It's quality of the service and staff, Reasonable clean and attention to detail... And not price gouge to death! More simple hotels need to come up to the standards this hotel does better than even regular so called Ritz hotels...

Top Tips
- Secure your Ensenada hotel reservation 3 to 6 weeks before Vendimia (grape harvest festival, usually August) and major long weekends. Expect sold-out rooms and price increases around Vendimia, with nightly rates surging by 25-100%. For flexible dates, compare midweek rates to find possible savings.
- Use central Ensenada as your base for Valle de Guadalupe wine tours. Hotels here typically cost 10-40% less than in the Valle itself and are 30-40 minutes (30 km) from most wineries. Weekday stays often have lower rates; confirm in advance if your hotel offers free parking.
- Allow 1.5 to 2.0 hours to drive from Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) to Ensenada, the nearest major airport. If crossing the U.S.-Mexico border by car, check recent wait times and carry your passport and FMM tourist card as required by Mexican law.
- Drink only bottled or filtered water in Ensenada. Most hotels provide complimentary bottled water—verify at check-in—or plan to buy 500 mL bottles for under $2 USD at local stores.
- Pay hotel and in-store charges in Mexican Pesos (MXN) to avoid dynamic currency conversion fees that can add 1-10% to your total. Use chip-enabled or contactless cards and review your printed receipt before signing.
- Check your work connectivity options before booking. Mobile data from Telcel and Movistar in central Ensenada usually provides 10-50 Mbps speeds and often outperforms hotel Wi-Fi. Ask about wired Ethernet connections if you require a stable internet connection.
- Expect a 16% Value Added Tax (IVA) plus local lodging taxes on hotel stays; your final bill may total 16-20% above base rates. If you need to reclaim VAT, request a full 'factura' (invoice) from your hotel at checkout.
- If you need step-free access, request an accessible room or elevator in writing before arrival. Many boutique and older city-center hotels have stairs and narrow hallways; mention 'sin escalones / piso bajo / elevador' when booking and confirm at check-in.
- City center and waterfront areas are more crowded on cruise ship days. To avoid large groups, check the Port of Ensenada’s cruise schedule when booking downtown accommodations or planning late-night walks.
- For safety, avoid driving to Valle de Guadalupe wineries after dark. Rural roads may be unlit or single-lane; schedule vineyard visits during daylight and allow an extra 30-60 minutes for weekend or festival traffic.
