The hotel is near the Chengdu Panda Research center and provides shuttles to travel between. The service is awesome. The front desk  helped us a lot with our accommodations and travel plans. The panda theme room is super cute and our kiddo loves it.

Top Tips
- Book 4 to 8 weeks ahead for major Chinese holidays like National Day (October 1-7) and Spring Festival (late January to February) to avoid rate spikes of 20-50% and sharply reduced availability. Target early reservations if staying near Chunxi Road or Kuanzhai Alley for best hotel selection.
- Factor in total travel time when choosing your arrival airport. Tianfu (TFU) is about 50 km (31 mi) southeast of downtown and typically takes 40-60 minutes by subway or express, while Shuangliu (CTU) is 16 km (10 mi) southwest with most metro or taxi rides lasting 20-30 minutes. Confirm your arrival terminal and transit schedules, especially for late-night arrivals.
- Bring your original passport for mandatory in-person registration at check-in, as hotels must register foreign guests with the Public Security Bureau. Photo copies are not accepted, and hotels cannot check you in without your original document.
- Carry 200-500 CNY (approx. $28-$70 USD) in cash for arrivals, as WeChat Pay and Alipay dominate, and some smaller hotels or guesthouses may not accept foreign cards. Major brands may require a card hold for incidentals.
- Expect at least one free bottled water per guest in-room, as tap water in Chengdu should be boiled or filtered. An electric kettle is usually provided for convenience.
- If you need step-free access, request an elevator or ground floor room when booking historic guesthouses in Kuanzhai Alley. Many narrow-lane hostels do not have elevators or offer only steep stairs, so confirm access needs with your hotel before arrival.
- Budget for extra-person and breakfast add-ons, which commonly cost 20-80 CNY (about $3-$11 USD) per person. Small hotels often enforce strict guest limits—clarify all surcharges at booking to avoid check-in delays.
- Use international loyalty programs such as Marriott, Hyatt, or Accor to access perks like free breakfast, late checkout, or lounge access. Elite benefits at Chengdu properties can offset 10-25% of room and breakfast costs.
- Expect variable Wi-Fi speeds: 4 and 5 star hotels typically advertise speeds of 50-200+ Mbps, while budget options often offer 10-30 Mbps. For reliable 100+ Mbps 4G/5G, consider a local prepaid SIM or eSIM in city center districts.
- Avoid unlicensed taxis by using official taxi counters at Tianfu (TFU) or Shuangliu (CTU) airports or booking through the Didi app. Save your hotel address in Chinese characters to assist drivers.
- If sustainability matters, look for China Green Hotel certification—select Chengdu hotels display this mark. Ask the hotel about their certification details and water or linen reuse policy before booking.
