The room was very spacious with comfortable beds. It was also nice to have the kitchenette. The staff were exceptional and friendly
Fantastic location close to old port which was our focus of our recent family trip. Parking was non valet but allowed in and out privileges which was also ideal for this particular trip as we were visiting numerous sites too far to walk from the hotel.

Where to stay in Montreal
Learn about the top neighbourhoods of Montreal
This lively downtown area stretches from McGill University to the eastern border of Dawson College, with lots and lots to do in between. Immerse yourself in Montreal's nightlife along iconic Crescent Street or indulge in some retail therapy along Sainte-Catherine Street. Catch a Montreal Canadiens game or major event at Centre Bell, or head west to the more subdued Shaughnessy Village neighborhood.
A beautiful juxtaposition exists in this varied area, home to beloved Old Montreal and its cobblestoned streets and buildings dating back to the 1600s, as well as the cutting-edge Palais des Congres de Montreal, which hosts large-scale gatherings in an ultra-modern setting. This beautiful area also spans a portion of the two-kilometer-long Old Port sector. Once used as a trading post, today's Old Port offers an array of family-friendly attractions, activities, shops and restaurants along the St. Lawrence River.
Vibrant, energetic and oh-so-fun, this downtown sector is home to major Metro stops, the Place des Arts performing arts center, fine dining and fantastic nightlife. About 2.5 million people come this area every year for its summertime Montreal International Jazz Festival, heralded as the largest jazz festival in the world..

Top Tips
- Factor in the combined 14.975% Quebec GST and QST taxes on your hotel stay. These apply province-wide to all hotels and typically add $15-$30 USD (C$20–C$40) per night, and are often excluded from initial online quotes.
- Book your summer festival hotel 6-12 weeks in advance to avoid 30-100% price increases during events like the Jazz Festival and July events, especially for downtown rooms. Check cancellation policies, as many Montreal hotels offer flexible options during busy event periods.
- Budget $18-$33 USD (C$25–C$45) per night for downtown hotel parking, as street parking is limited. Many central hotels, including chains, offer amenities such as valet parking or electric vehicle charging; public transit can help reduce parking costs.
- Allow 30-60 minutes for travel between Montréal–Trudeau (YUL) Airport and downtown. The STM 747 airport express bus runs 24/7 for about C$11 (~$8 USD), usually taking 45-70 minutes in peak times.
- Choose your Montreal neighborhood based on noise preferences. Plateau and St-Laurent areas have late-night activity until 2-4 AM on weekends, and Old Montreal attracts evening pedestrian traffic. Contact your hotel directly to request an interior-facing or higher-floor room for a quieter stay.
- Confirm step-free access early in the booking process, as many heritage buildings in Old Montreal and the Plateau are converted 19th-century structures with narrow staircases and limited elevators. If you require accessible features, check details directly with the property, as amenities vary by hotel.
- Plan for tipping: 15-20% for restaurant service (before taxes), and $1.50-$3.50 USD (C$2–C$5) per day for housekeeping or per service for bell/valet staff. Tipping in local currency (CAD) is preferred, and many hotels can add gratuities to the bill if requested.
- Pay in Canadian dollars (CAD) to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fees, which often worsen the exchange rate. Most Montreal hotels, including global chains, accept chip cards and mobile payments, and using a credit card without foreign transaction fees can reduce extra costs.
- Montreal tap water is safe to drink. In heritage hotels with older plumbing, you can request filtered water or a decanter at arrival, and many upscale hotels provide complimentary bottled or filtered water on request.
- Identify hotels with formal sustainability practices by looking for Green Key (Canada) or LEED certifications in OTA filters or on hotel pages. Ask about in-room sustainability initiatives, such as bulk toiletries or laundry programs, which are increasingly common among certified properties.
