There was not a positive thing about this hotel.
Surprised at how quiet it was given that it was right off a Main Street.

The staff was friendly and right there when I checked in and out. The room was clean and well kept. There were outlets in the room to charge my phone, but they were under the nightstand so some people might miss that. It was also very quiet and low cost.
Clean and freshly done. I would recommend to people who want nothing more than a cup a coffee in the morning.

spacious clean room
The room was very nice, clean, updated and modern. I appreciated the kitchenette, and big bathroom. It was nice having free laundry, but the scent was very strong from people's detergents while I worked out since the laundry is the same room as the gym.
Rooms size was great and loved the kitchen area with the microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffee pot and cook ware! All the comforts of home!

Room layout, green mountain coffee in room, soda options at breakfast.
The hotel was good overall. No issues. Even with dozens of High School debate/speech students staying there, it was relatively quiet. ANd the breakfast area had plenty of food even with all the kids.

We did not stay here , we were moved to different rooms , the trash pile outside the door was huge. The carpet in the hallway was mud tracked in.
Hotel GM does not understand her job or the meaning of hospitality. When a guest proves the hotel is holding the deposit money, you don?t argue with the guest and flat out tell them well see what the area manager wants to do.

Top Tips
- Book lodging 6 to 10 weeks ahead for weekend Sandhill Crane Watch events in late February through March to avoid sold-out hotels. Confirm exact watch dates with Rowe Sanctuary before finalizing reservations to match event schedules.
- Stay at a hotel along the I-80 frontage near the Great Platte River Road Archway to save time. These hotels are about 15 to 20 minutes (15 to 18 miles) from Rowe Sanctuary and Gibbon viewing sites, minimizing early morning drives for crane fly-outs.
- Expect to use a personal or rental vehicle, as Kearney’s public transit and rideshare options are limited. Prioritize hotels that offer free onsite parking or ground-floor rooms, especially if traveling with gear or using mobility aids.
- Check the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) event calendar before booking, as demand spikes during homecoming, orientation, or commencement weekends. When booking during these periods, plan 4 to 6 weeks ahead and compare weekday versus weekend rates.
- For early birding departures, select hotels with breakfast service starting at 5:00 to 6:00 AM or offering grab-and-go options. Always verify breakfast hours at booking to ensure you can leave in time for pre-dawn crane viewing.
- Allow extra travel time when driving I-80 in winter and spring, as weather advisories or temporary closures can add 30 to 90 minutes or more to your trip. Check Nebraska DOT road alerts on your travel morning and add a buffer to your schedule.
- For group bookings of 10 or more rooms, such as tour or photography workshops, contact the hotel’s sales desk directly. Many Kearney hotels provide discounts on room blocks and meeting spaces not available through online travel agencies.
- If you need EV charging, luggage storage, or pet-friendly rooms, confirm availability before booking, as these amenities are limited in Kearney. Verify directly with the property to avoid any last-minute surprises.
