The hotel overall was in alignment with what I have come to expect of Holiday Inn Express. The room was clean and well appointed. The Holiday Inn express breakfast is a favorite of mine.

Top Tips
- Summer weekends and holiday periods (Memorial Day to Labor Day) in Edenton often fill up 2-3 weeks in advance due to limited rooms at small inns and rentals. Book at least 14-21 days ahead to secure accommodations, especially if you want specific amenities. Compare refundable and non-refundable rates for more flexibility.
- Many historic Edenton inns are housed in 18th- or 19th-century buildings without elevators and with narrow staircases. If you require an accessible or ground-floor room, confirm availability when booking. Ask properties directly if step-free or ADA-compliant rooms are available; most national chains list accessibility features online.
- Waterfront lodgings on Albemarle Sound may be affected by storm surge or tidal flooding. Request property elevation or check FEMA flood maps before booking a waterfront room to assess flood risk. If you need a ground-floor room, confirm its flood history with staff.
- Mosquito activity peaks May through September in Edenton's coastal and marsh areas. Pack repellent with at least 20% DEET or icaridin, and request a screened or air-conditioned room at booking to limit bites. Top hotel brands typically offer air conditioning in all rooms.
- Most downtown dining options in Edenton close by 8-9 PM outside peak tourist season. If arriving late, choose a hotel with an in-room kitchenette or onsite restaurant; major chains often provide these amenities. If planning to self-cater, confirm local grocery store hours and shop earlier in the day.
- Parking is limited on downtown Edenton's historic streets. Most inns and hotels include free onsite parking; confirm spot availability and space size if traveling with an oversized vehicle. National chains usually guarantee guest parking, but verify this when booking or at arrival.
- Hurricane and tropical storm season in Edenton runs June to November. Review each hotel's cancellation and rebooking policy for weather-related events before reserving. Some properties allow flexible changes if a hurricane watch is issued; ask about refund options and emergency procedures before your stay.
