Top Tips
- Arrive via Memphis International Airport (MEM), the closest major airport to Robinsonville at 30-35 miles (48-56 km) away, a drive of approximately 30-45 minutes. Rent a car at MEM for flexibility, or prebook a reputable shuttle, since most casino hotels do not provide scheduled airport transfers. Confirm shuttle schedules for late arrivals as frequency may vary after 20:00.
- Select a casino hotel with on-site accommodations for step-free access to rooms, casino floors, and dining. Properties like Gold Strike and Horseshoe connect all amenities, which is especially valuable for guests needing accessible routes or those seeking minimal transit time between activities.
- Patrons must be at least 21 years old to enter gaming areas in Mississippi; government-issued photo ID checks are standard at casino and hotel front desks. Verify age requirements for specific amenities such as pools or lounges, as some properties enforce strict access policies.
- Indoor smoking is allowed on casino floors in Mississippi, which may affect air quality. Request a non-smoking room on a higher floor to minimize exposure, and confirm with your hotel about in-room air purifier availability. For added comfort, choose properties with dedicated non-smoking gaming sections.
- Expect $3-$5 ATM fees per withdrawal at on-property casino ATMs, plus any bank-imposed charges. Avoid extra costs by bringing a moderate amount of cash or using a bank ATM located off the casino strip; many are within a 10-minute drive of major hotels.
- Peak demand at Tunica casino resorts occurs Thursday-Saturday and on major U.S. holidays, often raising rates. For best value, book stays 2-6 weeks in advance or target Tuesday-Thursday nights, which may offer lower rates and smaller crowds. Consider joining hotel rewards programs for exclusive rate offers.
- Limit walking outside the main casino corridor at night, as private security patrols are concentrated near major hotels and crime rates increase in Tunica town after dark. Use hotel-provided security escort services or rideshare for short trips, and verify local transit schedules for late-evening returns.
