Close to interstate and hotel was decent and pretty clean.
Friendly welcoming staff.
My son is in a wheelchair so we needed an accessible room. We called to make sure we had an accessible room. Jen FaceTimed to give me a tour of the room to make sure it would work. She even stayed late to move furniture out for more space.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 2-3 months in advance for June-August visits, as local state park traffic drives rates up by 20-30% during this high-demand period. Lock in your dates early to avoid peak prices commonly seen when booking within a month of arrival.
- Expect 15-20% in additional taxes—state and local hotel fees are often not included in the first price you see. Check the booking summary for detailed tax breakdowns before confirming.
- For safer stays and easy amenity access, choose hotels within 1-2 miles of I-44. Properties farther out tend to see higher petty crime rates and may require more driving for basic services.
- Confirm hotel Wi-Fi speeds of 20-50 Mbps before booking if you plan to work remotely. Rural outages in Lebanon occur 5-10 times each year; bring a mobile hotspot for uninterrupted connectivity.
- During March-June, Lebanon averages 10-15 thunderstorm-related power outages yearly. Pack backup chargers and portable batteries for your devices to stay connected if outages occur during your hotel stay.
- Booking 3-5 weeks in advance usually yields rates 12-18% lower, while last-minute weekend bookings can be up to 25% higher. Compare dates for better value.
- If you pay with a foreign card, decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) and select 'charge in USD.' Letting your home bank process the conversion avoids 4-7% in hidden fees.
- Staying at hotels along Route 66 east of downtown Lebanon typically costs 20% less—about $79-$94 USD per night—than downtown locations. Compare nightly rates by area for potential savings.
- Request accessible, step-free rooms early, as only 30% of Lebanon properties meet full ADA standards. Call the hotel directly to verify accessibility features like roll-in showers with at least 32-inch door width.
- Withdraw cash at local banks, such as Regions or Liberty near I-44 exits, to avoid $3-$5 USD surcharges that many hotel and gas station ATMs charge.
- Bring bottled water during July-August. Demand spikes can cause low water pressure at some older motels near Main Street, especially during heatwaves.
- Decline daily housekeeping in favor of every-other-day service to help conserve water. This supports local sustainability efforts in Southwest Missouri during seasonal water stress.
- Tip housekeeping $2-$5 USD per day for provided service; most staff are hourly contractors. Leave cash in a labeled envelope or with a note for clarity.
- Check if the hotel offers backup generators if you rely on medical devices during winter travel. Lebanon sees average outages of 2-4 hours per winter storm.
- Use AAA or CAA membership for a 10% discount at 14 of 23 local hotels. Note: These savings usually cannot be stacked with other online deals.
- Book accommodations 3-4 months ahead for popular events like the Apple Festival (September) or Lebanon Days (May). Rates often rise 30-40% if booking less than a month before.
- At gas station-adjacent hotels, prepay at the counter to avoid card skimming risks. Missouri ranks 6th nationally for card fraud; using cash or chip cards is safer.
- Request a ground-floor room to maintain Wi-Fi speeds of 15-20 Mbps. Upper floors in mid-range hotels often drop to just 5-8 Mbps.
- For historic hotels, ask for room-specific allergen information. Older buildings can have dust or mold, so request details if you are sensitive.
- Use mobile check-in at chains like Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lebanon to skip 20-30 minute wait times at the front desk during busy hours (7-9 AM).
- Check pet fees after booking confirmation, as some hotels charge $30-$50 USD extra per night for pets—potentially 15-20% of your stay cost.
- East-side hotels offer quieter stays, with typical nighttime noise levels of 45-55 dB, compared to 60-70 dB at properties near I-44.
- Pack reusable containers to help conserve water during Lebanon's June-August drought. Some hotels may limit towel changes to reduce demand.
- Check for stackable Loyalty and AAA discounts, as hotels like Hampton Inn Lebanon may offer 10-15% off. Combined discounts can reach up to 25%.
- Bring a power strip if staying in older or budget hotels, as many only have 1-2 accessible outlets per room.
- When offered, avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion by paying in USD at hotels. DCC often results in 3-5% poorer exchange rates.
- Request step-free access at historic hotels like the 1896 St. Charles Hotel, as only ground-floor rooms are accessible since there is no elevator onsite.
- Booking directly with local hotels (Best Western, Holiday Inn Express) usually yields rates 10-15% below third-party sites. This also saves you online travel agent (OTA) fees of about $10-$20 USD per night.
- Avoid rate spikes of 30-50% by booking at least 3 months before the Route 66 Festival (October) or Lebanon Raceway season (March-April). Plan ahead for these high-demand weekends.
- Hotels within 0.5 miles of I-44, such as Quality Inn and Super 8, offer direct highway access but may have elevated road noise at night.
- For breakfast, drive 5 minutes to local diners like J&J Café or Waffle House. Expect $6-$10 USD per meal versus typical $12+ USD hotel buffets.
- Budget hotels average Wi-Fi speeds of 5-10 Mbps, while brands like Hampton Inn or Tru by Hilton provide 25 Mbps or more. Verify speed if a stable connection is important.
- Use cash at small Route 66 motels (for example, Munger Moss) to avoid outdated card terminals and potential skimming risk. Nearby ATMs, like those at U.S. Bank, typically charge $3 USD per withdrawal.
- Ask about hidden resort fees before booking, as 1-2 Lebanon hotels, such as Kendall House Inn, may charge around $15 USD per night extra.
