Best Western Amarys Hotel & Spa

Location was good, Good welcome and staff spoke excellent English. There was air con. Dog friendly. Car parking.

We booked a table for 19.30 on line only to be told that the dining room was closed on a Sunday. There was however a good Chinese restaurant almost opposite which was good. The rooms are very small barely enough space for a double bed. Everything was set up for 1 person 1 towel. 1 coffee pod. No milk. Which we reported it and they said that they would have brought one up but it should have been there in the first place. I would probably stay there again but forewarned is for armed.

Comfortable bed

Service was terrible. No one around to serve in the bar/cafe for up to 20mins at a time. Breakfast was poor quality and very small amounts available which ran out. Glasses and plates ran out. No one around to help with anything.

The spa was inconvenient and dirty. The rooms are tiny. The receptionist was cold and rude.

The staff was very nice and dedicated. Very good atmosphere, very good breakfast. Special attention for the Spa facility which was very well done.

The indoor is quite nosy. It is noticed when we are in our bedroom.

The walls between the rooms are not sound proofed so it was a bit noisy!

I booked this hotel for my director and he said it completely exceeded his expectation. He needed to charge his electric car and Nothing was too much to ask. What made it exceptional was the staff (every single one that he dealt with). They were incredibly friendly, helpful and super kind. Blew him away as this is not normally what we get in a lot of the hotels he stays at in that area. Will definitely be going back

Bedroom AC

The hotel had building work being carried out resulting no bar or restaurant, very limited reception, poor space on car park

The room was large, modern, clean, and the AC worked great. The staff were helpful and the guy at the front desk was efficient and had a great sense of humor. Everyone spoke great English. A bakery and grocery are right next door. The restaurant served a good crème brûlée.

At the time of our stay the hotel was under construction so there was a lot of building material stacked everywhere making it a bit confusing to even figure out how to get in and out of the parking lot. Also, since we were in town for an event that centered around the chateau, the location was less than convenient, but would be great for passing through or for business travel.

Nothing except the gentleman who was there from night to morning was very good and friendly. He literally did everything from front desk to cooking breakfast.

It was nothing like booking.com description. The pool was not open. The restaurant was not open. It was a complete construction site. The room we booked was not what we were given.

The location was ok

The hotel was in the process of major alterations. Approaching the hotel and entering it was like walking into a chaotic building site. There were materials and debris everywhere. There was no lock on the corridor the rooms were off. The pool that we expected to be able to use had been excavated and was not available for use. The room was the smallest I have ever been in. With the level of disruption being experienced in this setting it should not have been open for business. We payed a hundred pounds a night. It wasn’t worth fifty. It was the worst hotel experience we have ever had.

The staff were very friendly. The food was amazing.

The hotel is undergoing major renovations - which we are sure will be wonderful when completed - however the hotel was a building site and it should not have been taking in customers. Our room was probably one of the worst hotel rooms we’ve ever stayed in.
