Very neat old castle with modern updates. Clean and comfortable rooms with unique features. Stopped here for a night on a bicycle tour - it was a slight detour from the route but well worth any extra pedal strokes to get here!

Very convenient for visiting friends in Kalkar. Historic building in quite a spectacular setting.

Beautifully renovated castle in a small village. Perfect place to stop on a bike tour. We didn’t have a room in the castle but our accommodation was in the renovated outbuildings where we could leave our bikes. Our building was convenient and comfortable. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast in the castle in the morning…

The European style beds were a little hard for us soft Aussies…

Nice and helpful staff, good breakfast. The surrounding environment is very beautiful. The different atmosphere from usual hotels.

Upon arrival the room was very cold. Furniture without any sense - mix of "antique" furniture, oriental paintings, each piece of a different style without any common taste. No acoustic isolation, you could hear all the traffic from the street. No additional services.

Great breakfast restaurant and rooms are very very spacious. Staffs are really nice and freindly. Huge Parking place included. We have been here a year ago and like very much. Second time, we were as happy as first time.

There is nothing to complain. The location is away from town. But taxi reservation is no problem. And they are very competent. We enjoyed out stay overall.

If I have to mention something, but both are minor:- there are many TV stations on the cable. But no Dutch stations- window could not fully open

Beautiful setting. Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast.

Room was luxurious. Communal areas were lovely and the mini bars were very inexpensive compared with other hotels. Hotel in lovely grounds.

In the right location for us

Accommodation not in picture displayed on website, but in property adjoining,

the building and location were very nice and the Baronesse room was spacious with a bubble bath. Staff serving breakfast very friendly. Plenty to do in the area.

Room clearly needed some maintenance; The curtains almost came off, or couldn't even be closed. The table was so wobbly it almost fell apart. Choice of breakfast was a bit disappointing and wifi was terrible.Overall feeling was the management wasn't really bothered welcoming guests, greeting when entering or maintaining a high standard altogether.

The grounds were gorgeous. It was peaceful. The breakfast room was so authentic. The landscaping was well kept. The beds were comfortable and the town was adorable. Also the mini fridge in the hall was fantastic for a beverage to watch the sun set!

One of our rooms was a bit warm - would recommend pulling the shades prior to guest arrival. Recommend that cars be allowed in the courtyard for luggage drop off.

The room is great and very spacious. Bath is a plus. All the artwork and pristine condition of the hotel in public spaces are great.

The beds were a little too soft for my taste. Also we were a couple and the 2 separate single beds were a little awkward. The Wi-Fi was good, except I couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to connect to my Android device. Only the iOS devices connected. The area is difficult to find good dinner, but we made it work and visited some regional areas.

A lovely castle with a lot of atmosphere, big and comfy room. Also very welcoming for dogs. Nice with both shower and bath. Easy parking.

No longer paths to take a stroll or walk the dog.
