- We had booked a special hotel for our 10th anniversary, but I messed up the dates and they had no availability so we had to find somewhere last minute. Being bank holiday weekend, almost everything was booked. On the first night, we managed to get a room in another hotel near where we had originally planned to stay. While we were grateful we had found somewhere, the experience was slightly marred by being very poor value. On the second night, we found this little gem. It was quite different than we had planned, and not in the same village, but we loved it. We had good communication from the owners. On arrival, we found good quality tea and coffee in the room, along with *fresh* milk (not UHT, which I was delighted about), fresh yogurt, apples and oranges, muffins, and some homemade granola, which was delicious. The bed was comfy, everything was spotlessly clean and it was in a lovely, quiet location. The lovely experience we had here more than made up for our disappointment the previous night.
