Hotel Ambassador

It is in the city center.Room is big.Clean.All staff helpful.I suggest to everyone who wants be near of the heart of the city

The first room we got was very small with the door openings right on the bed. We upgraded to very big and comfortable roomIn the evening the staff were unable to help

Vienna is an expensive city and Ambassador is no exception. At €300 per night, excluding breakfast, expectations are high, especially when it sells itself as a six-star Grand Old Lady.It delivers to a large degree : its location could not be better between shopping street Kärntner Straße and Neuer Markt with its historic characteristics. Most tourist destinations are within walking distance (The State Opera, St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Imperial Palace and the Musikverein).The building is old, but in good condition. Reception staff could do with some hospitality training ; they usually hide in the little backroom and only come out reluctantly. The key to your room is unique and they will charge you a few hundred Euro if you lose it - you are requested to leave it at reception whenever you go out.We got room 319 facing the Capuchin Church opposite the square. A large space, very classic, classy European, high plaster decorated ceiling, striped wall paper, timber wardrobe, large bed, table chairs, fridge with bar. A very small bathrm with plastic handshower. Only 1 heater working, but they fixed the others next day.I see on their website that they have some outstanding luxury rooms, but I guess they would be more expensive.Ambassador was perfect for our 3 day stay.

On behalf of myself Jonathan Clifton & my Mum Lesley Clifton we would like to say a big thank you especially to Spiros & all the amazing staff at the Ambassador Hotel in Vienna Austria.My Mum & me stayed from the 22nd of December 2025 until the 26th of December 2025 & we thought that this was one of the most elegant & luxurious hotels we have ever had the pleasure of staying in.We both thought it was a very nice touch of the Ambassador Hotel to give lovely cards & gifts on both my birthday & Christmas Day was very kind indeed & made us feel very welcome.Me & my Mum have recommended the Ambassador Hotel in Vienna Austria to family & friends & we very much hope to return in the near future.Apologies it has taken us so long to write this review as we have had a lot going on in our life since we got back from Vienna.Sending our warm wishes to Spiros & all the staff at the fantastic Ambassador Hotel in Vienna Austria.Kind regards, Jonathan & Lesley

The location was superb for visiting the main city sights. Staff were friendly and the room was very nicely furnished.

Room was phenomenal,plenty space, awesome view and close location to many attractions

Large rooms, excellent breakfast.

I was ill with bronchitis and could not enjoy much of Vienna's offerings in the sub-zero temperatures and windy conditions outside.

We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but did enjoy the beautiful bar/lounge. Too bad there was construction while we were there, we would have enjoyed our balcony.

During our stay there were construction,drill.maintenance on going started at 7:00 AM right behind our room which caused disturbance and discomfort to our stay. The hotel failed to notify us the check in and also during room resrvaation so I can take other options . I believe the hotel management failed to apply the appropriate course of action and notify the client accordingly.Also there were no complementary water in the nor boiler/tea bags and coffeeAlso I have requested medical which they do not haveAlso for safety purpose as indicated by the hotel,no iron/iron board in the room

location was brilliant. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was excellent - great big bath. We enjoy the bar and went there for cocktails. Very nice.

It was all great. It was expensive but you get what you pay for. We didn't try the breakfast as it was very expensive.

Maybe soundproof, I heard everything what happens in the street. But hotel located in the city center so that is ok

Location was great for access to many tourist sites. Good size room. Nice bath with good shower.

Room was very warm at night. Had to open window but it wouldn't open as much as needed to cool room.

The room was amazing, more like a suite, With sitting area and en-suite bathroom. It was adjacent to the Bar lounge and across from the breakfast room, so very nicely positioned.The staff were friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome and relaxed.Breakfast was very comprehensive, well presented and fresh.Ideal location for accessing the City, especially the Cathedral, the designer shops, Restaurants and the Underground.

Location is excellent. Staff were good

Shower is a joke. Over bath shower with minimal flow. Flow is like an underpowered electric shower from 30 years ago. Shower screen folds but isnt long enough and water goes all over the floor. They've spent a lot of money on finishes in the bathroom and elsewhere in the hotel but haven't addressed the major issues with the plumbing system which isnt fit for purpose. We requested a king size bed but got 2 singles pushed together. We had been told it was subject to availability at check in but we arrived by 11am so we must have been way earlier than other guests!
