About

Set in a historic chateau manor on the outskirts of Freiburg city, this hotel lies directly at the foot of the Tuniberg vineyards. Schloss Reinach features free Wi-Fi and free use of its spa with various saunas, a steam room, and an all-year open stainless steel pool, which is heated during the winter. Massage and beauty treatments can be reserved for a fee Several rooms have a terrace or patio with direct access to the pool. The bathrooms are en-suite. Bathrobes as well as bath and sauna towels can be borrowed free of charge from the hotel reception. A copious and hearty buffet style breakfast is prepared every morning in the breakfast restaurant. The hotel’s 3 a-la-carte restaurants serve German cuisine, Italian delicacies as well as regional specialties, which can be enjoyed in the summer on the restaurant terraces in the hotel’s beautiful inner courtyard. At least one of our restaurants remains open at all times. Hiking is popular in the area, and golf enthusiasts can reach the Tuniberg Golfclub in 3-minutes by car. Younger guests can enjoy a playground close to the hotel. A parking space in the hotel’s parking garage can be reserved for a fee. The A5 motorway is 1.9 mi away.

    Pros +

    • The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The pool was really nice, heated and modern. I also got a room with a private sauna and that was a fun, unique experience. Breakfast was also great, lots of drink and both hot and cold food options.
    • Lovely location - easy 25min bus ride from the central station and near the Tuniberg vineyards - great for walking. Excellent breakfast, staff and pool. Spa is great for a hotel, the thermal spa at Keidel is a 10 min direct bus ride away if you want something more adventurous.
    • Very nice facility, excellent amenities incl. Spa, Saunas etc, Superb breakfast, excellent service. We loved the accommodation.

    Cons -

    • Previous person had smoked in room
    • A little pricey but I think worth it
    • The description of the rooms didn't make it clear that the rooms are very much intended for romantic couples (bathtub directly in the room, glass door to the shower etc.) - we were a group and this was very strange for our stay.

Super clean great breakfast , spa was good , location to hit both the Black Forest and Alsace is fabulous it's just off the 5 going from Switzerland to Frankfurt

A little pricey but I think worth it

Nice area, nice and clean building and rooms. The staff was very helpful. We managed to get a nice lunch package instead of breakfast (we had to leave early). The outdoor swimming pool is great.

Atmosphere 24h check in - pool and sauna facilities- excellent breakfast until 1030 and checkout is also comfortably late at 12!

Nice sorrounding, great breakfast and relaxt swimming area. Friendly staff and a good bar. Nicely located next to the high way so well positioned for a night stay.

The pillows were not too comfortable, but I should’ve asked for more. The room was small and located next to the inner terraces

Beautiful location and superb design, cleanliness and service. Top quality restaurant.

Nice clean hotel in convenient location.

Price was a bit higher than I would have liked.

Excellent staff, customer service, food bed, room ' - - everything superb.

No tea or coffee in the room.

Stunning nature around the Schloss, professional staff, great pool and amazing breakfast.

Opening hours of spa outrageous for a spa hotel (only 10am?)

    6UmaPosted on: 4-2-2024

The spa facilities ( pool and sauna) are good. The gym is basic.

The rooms are very basic with a tiny little window. No toiletries provided except shower jel. Breakfast is OK.

The pool was nice and warm, the breakfast was copious and the staff very pleasant as were the staff in the bar area.

I had booked a twin bed room, we were given a room with a double bed - I was sharing the room with my 15 yr old granddaughter! The male reception clerk was very arrogant and said firstly I was given a room that I had ordered and that the beds forming the double bed could eventually be separated - it was not done and I therefore had to ask the cleaning staff to do it, which they did with single sheets and moving the beds. I wasted time and energy as I didn't receive what I had ordered on arrival as it was clearly not a twin bed room. There were no net curtains on the windows on the whole side of the floor where our room was situated, only on the opposite side of pool area, so the heavy curtains had to be drawn for privacy as you could see people in their rooms from the pool! The channels available on the t.v. were all German speaking, I did not find English, French or Italian channels. There were no brochures or plan of the city map of Freiburg on what to see in town or in the area.

Great pool, nice property and good breakfast.

The room was very limited, with only a small window.

    9KatherinePosted on: 9-12-2023

Loved the pool and the breakfasts. If we came back would book one of the rooms opening out on to the pool. Friendly staff, great service, clean and comfortable rooms. Lovely peaceful location.

Nothing, it was all lovely. There's not much else here, so it's a good place to properly relax.

    10RudolphPosted on: 8-27-2023

    Excellent staff, breakfast and atmosphere

    9JoshuaPosted on: 8-16-2023

The single room was comfortable. The Sauna was also nice after using the Fitness room. The dinner tasted amazing and the serving staff were all very friendly.

The dinner portion at the restaurant could have been larger for the price paid. But the flavor was great, so this is just a small personal critique.

Very nice breakfast and sitting area outside. Nice clean room with very clean bathroom. Worth the money!

Naming the place a castle is taking the mouth too full. It is a hotel. Missed the hangers for towels to dry in the bath room. The village is boring, nothing to see.

I love this hotel, I travel between England and Italy and have stayed here many times in the last 10 years. It never disappoints, the staff are always lovely. Everything is meticulously, clean- a great breakfast and a fantastic spa. I will return again before much longer

I have stayed in this hotel multiple times every year in the last decade, I travel alone, so book a single room. It would be nice just once in a blue moon to be recognised as a frequent guest and might be bumped into a nicer room last night. The hotel was very very quiet but as always single room allocated, that’s all I pay for so I’m not moaning, but I have racked up a fair few visits over the years

Restaurant crossover is great. Location is great

Ok, two things here. The crossover restaurant has great food and service. However, the hotel is ridiculously expensive for the value. Furthermore, our bed was way too soft, in the evening dogs of a neighbor were barking for 2 hours and the lady at the reception didn't do anything about it, and the next morning the cleaning lady walked into the room despite the do-not-disturb sign. Needless to say I'm not planning to come back quickly again.
