    Cons -

    • No breakfast in the room priceThe bathroom is quite small.
    • I was unaware ( my mistake, I suppose) that the hotel was a short but rather treacherous, uphill distance from the train station; we arrived in the dark, assumed that there'd be a taxi available at the station but there was not...and had to make our way up a 1/4 to 1/2 mile with sharp curves..no lights in complete darkness! to the hotel We had no choice thank god, there was one shining light up we could see in the distance as we trudged upwards with our luggage. Thankfully we are in good shape, but this good be a problem for people. Perhaps the hotel should advise guests? Otherwise we really liked everything about this place. It's funny also that the staff seemed unaware of local walks of interest such as the Gorges de la Diosaz which was simply quite spectacular!

very welcoming staffgreat location for hiking

very uncomfortable balcony chairs, please improve these.kettle in the room is expected, that being said, they kindly served morning coffee at reception which I bought back to the room

Very helpful staff. Wonderful food. Comfortable beds. Clean and cozy

    9Gene B.Posted on: 8-22-2025

Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Facilities are nice and well kept.

Location, if you're walking up from the train station, can be a bit nerve-wracking.

    8APirtlePosted on: 8-7-2025

The view was unreal! We was an amazing view overlooking the valley. We enjoyed nightly sunsets from our balcony. The dining room as very cute and the breakfast def met our needs. You can see that the hotel is used to hikers and does all they can to accommodate those people

The location wasn't ideal for getting around town. It was close tot he train station, but a longer walk into the Les Houches town. So be prepared to so some walking to get to places both up and down hill

Great value for money, rooms were spacious and super clean with great mountain view! A great break while walking the TMB.

    9MollyPosted on: 6-24-2025

Another great stay here as we finished our TMB experience. We opted an upgraded rooms with a view of the mountain - so worth it! The breakfast was great again, too. Really like the staff here also.

    7NancyPosted on: 6-24-2025

LOVED the view!!! The room was spacious and the balcony was lovely. The breakfast was nice.

Really wished there had been AC, or at the very least a screen on the windows/balcony door so we could have had some air flow. It was stifling hot which made it difficult to sleep.

    8ColePosted on: 6-17-2025

This was a great stay to start and end the TMB. It was a super cute hotel with a great view. As we were checking in the woman let me know the room I originally booked was super small and offered us a different one at no extra cost - super thoughtful and kind! They offered us tram tickets so we could explore Chamonix before the 4pm check in time. The breakfast was great - perfect to start our trek and highly recommend it to any other travelers who are starting their day from here.

It’s on the opposite side of Les Houches so it adds another ~20 minutes of walking to get to the TMB “start point”.

Fixtures could do with renewing like lamps in bedroom and blinds on stair case . Room very dusty house keeping should be more attentive or trained.

    6AnastasiiaPosted on: 3-27-2025

Location and view are incredible. Very polite and helpful staff.

The price of food at restaurant for breakfast and in general.Rooms are outdated and uncomfortable.Toilet seat moved out. In the bathroom smelled moldy.

The property was beautiful and in an awesome setting. My room overlooked the ice capped mountain range and the town below. It was picturesque when all lit up at night. The room was lovely and warm. The staff were amazing. They couldn’t do enough to help us. 5* treatment in a 5* setting. Just perfect.

It’s away from the town centre but that could be a good point as well. Once I had worked out the train times it was a short walk up the hill from Les Houches station, so easy to get to.

    7JuliaPosted on: 3-21-2025

Beautiful view of the mountains, close to the town (by car), cozy lobby decor.

I was surprised to find no complimentary coffee or tea in the room—something I’ve come to expect from hotel stays. When I went to the lobby to get some tea, I found out it was an extra charge. I don’t mind paying, but it felt unusual for this not to be included.I had hoped to enjoy my tea by the fireplace in the lobby around 9 PM, but the atmosphere was anything but relaxing. Instead of mellow evening music, the playlist was blasting loud pop songs, making it hard to unwind.Lastly, the bathroom door in room 305 was broken and didn’t fully close or lock, which was inconvenient and lacked privacy.Overall, some small adjustments could make for a much more comfortable stay.

Perfect everything, room, view, welcome and service, dinner excellent, great breakfast. Exceptionally good value.

    Nothing except having to leave.

    10IlektraPosted on: 3-4-2025

The location was great as it was 10’ walk from the train station . The views of the mountain breathtaking. The staff was excellent, very friendly, polite and helpful. The restaurant at the hotel is very good , great choice if you are having dinner there .

As it’s quite uphill I would prefer to have hired a car , even though they offer a shuttle bus to get you down and pick you up it’s only for specific times . Nothing I didn’t like , this was just a personal preference and better organisation for the future .

    9PetrPosted on: 3-4-2025

We chose the hotel based on availability and price. Parking in front of the hotel in sufficient capacity and free of charge. We perceived the ** marking to be more like *** due to the staff, comfort and food.Nice and clean accommodation. Room with mountain view, suitable for family, two children. We could have had two small dogs with us. The biggest benefit was the dinner. The chef is absolutely fabulous. For a reasonable price you get a sumptuous meal. The staff will take you by van to the slopes. It is possible to rent a sledge. There is a nice sauna in the hotel.

Optimal location, easy to reach from the main road, 5 min drive from the ski area Les Houches. Super friendly, english speaking personal. Amazing view from the room. Comfy bed.Not tried the dinner options, but the menu looked great!

The room itself has seen better days, but hey, I can’t complain as the value you get for your money was pretty good! If,then some smaller, easy renovation could improved the look and feel of the hotel, but that’s just nitpicking.

    9BorisPosted on: 2-28-2025

It is cosy and clean. Rooms are nice, warm and comfortable, beds are great. Whole hotel feels like living room at home. Staff is super nice, and everybody speaks English.

In large room (4 beds), bathrooms is divided from the room with curtains, and shower cannot be completely closed so there is water everywhere.
