Pros +

  • No breakfast
  • I booked this B&B for my parents to stay in our town for a couple nights. The owners only speak German, so I was worried about how it would go for my parents who only speak English, but it was fine. My husband and I did all the translating, and I think someone could have used a translator app and been fine. They actually let them check in without meeting them because of the timing, so we really only needed to talk when paying to leave. The rooms were nicely furnished and spacious. There was a small seating area as well as a wardrobe, which included a safe (something my step-mother always wants for her jewelry). The bathroom was spacious enough, though I didn't go in it. My parents were happy enough with it. They specifically said that the beds were very comfortable. They had a double room, which was doubled in the typical German fashion of having two twin beds together with separate bedding. There was plenty of parking, and the B&B is directly across from a bus stop, has sidewalks all to it, and a bike path nearby.

Cons -

  • Move it closer to the city
  • There is no elevator, so going to the second floor was a bit tough on my father who has had both his knees replaced and brought an excessively large bag. We managed it together, but if I had mobility concerns, I would check to see if there were ground floor rooms (I'm not sure there are) or consider staying somewhere else with either ground floor option or an elevator. The B&B is a bit outside of town, so you would need either to walk at least 25 minutes downhill to get to town or take a car (5 minutes max) or a bus (only comes every 30 minutes or so, less often on weekends).
