The Longshoot

I loved the friendliness of staff and the food in the restaurant was outstanding.

The bathroom was a little dated

Nothing really after finding the room with a strong odour of urine and the general environment was littered and looked filthy for a hotel.

Cleanliness was poor

The location was ideal, it was central for most people, it was only myself that had a long journey

The room I was in was clean and comfortable.The bathroom was the downside.Could do with a coat of paint.And difficult to get in and out of the bath to have a shower, at 84 years of age

I have been to Longshoot many times over the years. a refurbishment a few years back was a much needed improvement. The rooms were in good order and clean, I particularly liked the Queen size bed. Carvery superb.

Being a motel access is via external stairs/corridors, they were in a poor state of repair with missing tiles and very dirty, bins placed along the corridors for cigarette ends were left unemptied. the whole area needed sweeping and jet-washing.

Food was nice

Paint peeling on walls, dirty bath, holes in walls, chipped dirty skirting boards. Bath non slip circles brown from dead skin etc. photo shows tissue from me cleaning one. Not enough tea, coffee etc left for two nights (just two tea bags, two coffees, four sugars and four milk! We don’t drink coffee so would’ve had to share a tea bag each morning) Stains on carpet, no mirror at dressing table, no drawers. Dirty rag on hedge when we looked outside our window. No peace at breakfast, the lady serving breakfast started cutting onion for kitchen on a Restaurant table with no hairnet or apron. Staff were lovely and the food was good. We stayed for two nights but never again. Management need to ask themselves would they like to be charged to stay in a room like ours? would they even put up with these conditions in their own home?

Comfortable, clean motel. The pub serves a very reasonably priced carvery.

Great location for reason for our visit. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was fabulous, especially the carvery and the New Zealand sav wine was delicious.

Really clean and had everything you needed! Bed was super comfy and huge! Staff were so lovely and helpful on arrival. I would definitely come back!

Could hear next door neighbours in the early hours which was annoying but not the hotels fault.

Clean room close to local shops and pub for food and drink.

Limited car parking could be issue of full.

The hotel room was spacious and clean and was refreshed daily.We did make a reservation mistake but that was dealt with on the day we arrived but unfortunately it was not passed on to the hotel staff and only had one bath towel instead of two.We paid the extra fees for the breakfast but did not know that you could pay for a continental as my wife does not eat a full English breakfast.There was also not any muesli on offer apart from cereal.Breakfast was cooked to order for me and was very tasty.The restaurant was very good and the buffet was one of the best we have had and reasonable price under £10.Overall we had a great stay it was just a pity that the staff was not informed that there was two people staying.

Radiator is a little noisy during the night
