The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki

Attention to detail. Everything was so well done, clean, authentic, luxurious. All staff were so friendly and welcoming. One of the best hotels I’ve experienced.

The pool was very small, and the charge to rent a longe chair and umbrella for the beach was $100 a day + tax, on top of the daily $52 per day + tax resort fee.

It is a beautiful old hotel

Guide failed to show for a tour of the hotel advertised as one of their cultural attractions. Only your time offered during our stay. No chairs available at small swimming pool. Pool closed at 6 pm

For a 5 star hotel you expect a clean comfortable room. Where the Royal Hawaiian exceeds expectations is in the way each and every staff member makes you feel welcome. Whether cleaner, valet or front desk, I got a warm friendly greeting.

Unless you are very well off, the prices are quite high. Of course, Hawaii in general is expensive, and staying at the Royal was worth the experience.

for a 5 star it was a bit run down, carpets in hallway very dirty, AC system very dusty, Elevators brass decorations coroded, Food at the Lanai at cafeteria level and the tables and chairs not suitable for a 5 star

Very small room and bathroom, no vent or light switch in the bathroom.

Beautiful property right on the beach.

The balcony furniture cushions are way past their prime and need to be replaced.

I suppose the first feature that comes to mind is the exquisite setting on Waikiki Beach. No other hotel has quite the ambiance. Next would be the historic background with the location's significance where ancient Hawaiian royalty had their homes.

Our room was great but we were located about as far from the elevator as could be. For us it still cost a small fortune, so we only booked 3 days. We could have paid more for a superior room. Needless to say, we found things expensive.

It was on the beach

It was an old hotel and didn¿t feel like a 5 star hotel. There was no room service, we got a crappy room and they didn¿t change our sheets at night so we slept in sand every day

Location, the history and amenities offered.

I feel it would be helpful to have a hostess at the Mai Thai Bar to help with seating guests. We waited in line for 30+ minutes to be seated, while numerous people walked in and sat themselves. So we ended up leaving.

Peaceful oasis in the middle of Waikiki. We loved the gardens around the hotel. The beach is perfect-but also crowded. Close to many shops and restaurants. Interesting historical tour of the hotel at no charge. Also, several activities included.

Bathrooms in the historical building are small, but not a problem for us.

The staff, the concierge, the location, the valet service, the bell hop, and the beautiful hotel itself!

Loved everything about this hotel

Great location and staff. The hotel was peaceful and relaxing on the beach with all the hustle and bustle right outside your door if you want to explore. Excellent! !

A very family oriented hotel. My first stay didn¿t meet my expectations but previously booked another stay the same week. The manager reached out to me and provided us with a wonderful room.

Amazing hotel staff. Everyone from housekeeping to the poolside towel associates were super friendly.

Rooms were small and not 5 star deserving. The pool area was crowded and charging for chairs on the beach was a little ridiculous with the high nightly rate.

Overpriced gift shops; overpriced coffee shop; long walk to elevator and room had problem with constant tapping noise from fan/outside/or window...undetermined and low pressure on shower.

Very beautiful hotel in great location. Room was spacious and very clean.

The pool and amount of pool chairs was comically small. I went at 10 am a few days and was unable to get an open pool chair. The beach was very crowded. The coffee bar was only open until noon. The concierge was very unhelpful with booking in house spa.
