Sandals Barbados All Inclusive - Couples Only

Sandals Barbados was absolutely phenomenal for a mom & daughter trip. We enjoyed all that they had to offer & appreciate how it never felt too crowded. There were so many pool options to choose from and the evening entertainment was wonderful. All of the staff were extremely friendly- Darren was superb for helping us accommodate the best dinner plans and locate the hidden restaurants we couldn’t find. Tasha, one of our servers, spoke with a Bartender to make me a delicious mocktail. Dario, our photographer was a wonderful vibrant person that also helped us make our final choices (there’s so much to choose from). We can’t thank you enough- we will surely be back!

Waiting for food took a bit long on occasion. But it was always worth the wait!

The beds were very comfortable

The booking system for restaurants appalling - wifi down so often unable to book.Also restaurants on site booked ahead for months - how so? Booked for Greenhouse Restaurant one night- arrived and it wasn’t even open.Spices restaurant for breakfast - food nice - birds disgusting - flocks arrive as soon as you leave the table. No effort made by staff to get rid of them. Staff have swallowed the company guest communication policy and repeat what they are expected to say - with faces devoid of expression or meaning. No loungers on the beach as all booked out by 7.30 am despite a policy of no booking with towels.Very disappointing overall and will not be booking again.

The location and the beach

Some staffs in bar (swimming pool sandals Barbados, beach bar and bar next to Spices restaurant are very unfriendly. We can feel, we are bothering them. Hotel should send some mystery customers.Worst is the jet ski guy who kick people away from the sea or beach to promote/ serve his customers !! He is rude and not even staff of the hotel … we paid to enjoy the seafront not to hear horrible noise of his machine and be treated like this…By 6:45 AM, EVERYDAY, 95% of the sun beds on the beach are already “ booked” by towels, books and other private items… some people only showed up by lunch time :( Hotel has a beach beds policy but don’t respect it, same for people smoking on the beach, and hide their cigarette butts in the sand ? : nobody cares

Gorgeous property with something for everyone - party pools, quiet pools, plenty of bar and food options.Whilst full, it never felt crowded especially in the evenings

Nice gardens. La Parisienne restaurant and the Merry Monkey English Pub had great food and service for dinner.

Many of the bar, tour desk and service staff could be very abrupt and rude at times to all guests. Computing system didn’t seem to be integrated throughout the complex and booking details got lost. I had told staff on 4 occasions that we didn’t need a shuttle to the airport on check out, as we were relocating to another hotel and would checkout at 9:30am. However, we still got woken at 4am and again at 5am by staff wanting to collect our bags for transport to the airport, as this message hadn’t got through or sorted in their computing system. Lots of disgruntled customers making complaints in the club each day. They always ran out of beach towels at all the pool locations and it would often take 2 hours to restock.I notice from feedback on this site for the past 2 years that many of these issues are recurring problems. Sandals staff write a proforma response about how they’ll sort these issues out but they don’t. The place is understaffed and akin to being on a large cruise liner on land or an adult Disneyland. Not sure that a bowling alley is necessary in Barbados? The place is overpriced and understaffed for the quality of product they provide. Whilst being adults only, it is not a romantic getaway destination.

Location good, security good, excellent choice of restaurants. Fantastic vacation resort

One of the rooms assigned did not have the basic equipment such as clothes iron (heater), no tv remote until when constantly asked the second day, one bin alone and was not empty from the previous occupant on the day room assigned did, no suitcase stand. The night is extremely noisy with insects noises.This was room 2305.

The resort is beautiful and we liked the range of restaurants, the various pools and different entertainment options every night.We loved Neptune's and Portofino's restaurants

The staff are hit or miss. Some are lovely and welcoming, others ignore you and would rather be somewhere else.The reservation system for restaurants is ridiculous. It doesn't work. We had two reservations which disappeared when we actually arrived to be seated.Service in the restaurants was generally very slow and a bit chaotic.

Nice location and setting.

Where do I start?No housekeeping for our entire stay.Having to chase clean towels, coffee, cream, etc daily.Having to leave restaurants in search of drinks because the staff just ignore you after being seated.This is not a luxury resort - full stop.The finish in the room was quite poor (paint on the floor tiles, door frames, etc), and one of the patio doors was broken and just didn’t open. When our concierge showed us to the room, he tried that door twice and just brushed it off when he realised it wasn’t going be moving at all!The food is far from 5 star; average at best and the drinks were nothing special either.Having read a fair bit about the Sandals brand, and having paid a very hefty price per night, I expected a decent stay. Honestly, we are not divas and neither are we demanding, but if a hotel sells itself as something then it has to deliver on those promises. Sandals promises a lot and fails miserably. Please don’t waste your money here, when there are alternative, genuine luxury hotels on the island, such as the Fairmont Royal Pavilion for example. The difference there was striking!

I’m going to really struggle to find something to be positive about. I’m sorry this is not five star.

Absolutely, dreadful! It was like a five star Butlin holiday. The food was dreadful considering five star, the accommodation was OK, but lacked luxury as five star should. It was far too busy, so there was almost a herding mentality from the staff. In reality, we waited 40 minutes, trying to book up some restaurants, and finally walked away… That’s wrong but they get away with it by charging upfront. Paying 750 pounds per night, which is more than a five star hotel rate from a lot of hotels. This was the most disappointing hotel I’ve ever been to in my life, and would never book again.

Great beach for building sandcastles, everything was very convenient, restaurants were all good

Seemed to be under staffed at some places

The service was ok, understandable to handle the number of guests but still seemed to wait quite a bit. Mostly, the advertising makes it seem like a younger adult place and it seemed old (and unfortunately very fat) which was a downer.

Hanging out with a bunch of fat old people for a week.

My husband arrived first on he’s own with passport and my passport the security wouldn’t let him in and were very rude even though they had the booking he at to wait outside for an hour . Was not enough staff for amount of people We couldn’t get a sun bed we couldn’t get a restaurant booked for the times we wanted only times was when the shows were on so missed the shows They kept running out of certain drinks and at to go and get them at other bars but would take forever. No Rose wine at all which is what I drink so at to buy itThe red flag was up for three days so no water sports but all along the beach it was yellow . I don’t think they had the staff for water sports Wanted to write something down in room no pens or pads my husband went to reception to get one and they said can you bring it back after you have used it Will definitely not be going back very dissatisfied

Rooms were dilapidated shabby and was nothing like the photos on website or Booking.com site. Definitely not 5star hotel and not worth the money charged. Light fitting hanging out of ceiling and standard lamp broken reported to reception staff but nothing done about it. Room furniture marked and outdated rugs on floor old. Rooms needed redecorating and corridors dark and needs painting grubby looking

Liked nothing about the rooms. Female staff in restaurants for the most part were not friendly.

The beach is beautiful and our room was a honeymoon suite with swim up pool and tub.

The staff are surly and unhelpful in many of the restaurants and ice cream shop in particular.Thank goodness for butler service which is an extra cost.

When it comes to getting a sun bed it’s like Europe by 6/7am every location is reserved by either butlers or people leaving towels and odd items they bring on purpose it’s ridiculous staff don’t care about this and do nothing to help people by removing unused towels after a certain time etc can be very frustrating..u can watch some beds not be used all day because people wake up at silly o clock and place stuff by all pools/beach then decide where they want to go, very selfish. some rooms very dated and need TLC

The facilities and staff were excellent.

Whilst the Tom’s were comfortable and clean, they did feel a little dated.

There were so many different restaurants to choose from and therefore it never became 'samey'The choice and quality of food was excellent, healthy and fresh - the team did a great job and the service was excellent.

There was absolutely nothing we didn't like - the staff were exceptional, happy and made the experience. The choice of pools, beach, places to sit and relax, eat, drink and just be was amazing. The effect of the holiday has remained with us going back into reality..which speaks volumes. Still living on the memories!
