Location worked well for me. Staff member extremely helpful as I arrived early from train but he sorted everything and stored luggage until later with a complementary upgrade to save me having to use stairs.

There was no chair of any kind in the room which was disappointing, as was the fact that the restaurant was closed,

I liked how central the hotel was. The air conditioning was great.

The room wasn’t cleaned properly, the floor boards squeaked, the window opening contraption was ridiculous, when it was raining it was clear the spouting needed to be replaced due to the gunk that was coming out of it onto our room window. In the shower the drain was blocked and flooded the base of the shower and floor of the bathroom. There was mould and limescale growing in the grout in the shower. It was clear the room hadn’t been used in a while due to the dust everywhere. The walls were too thin we could hear the neighbours around us when they weren’t even being loud. There wasn’t enough storage for long time stays. The elevator didn’t have any information on when it was last serviced and its weight capacity. We also paid for five breakfasts and only got four because when we needed to leave we had to leave just before the restaurant opened for breakfast and when we asked if we could take a couple of pastries to go to we were told no.

Great location diagonally opposite Southern Cross station, short walk to Sydney XPT and Skybus to Melbourne airport.Receptionist was excellent so was the full cooked breakfast the next morning

Wheelchair access is through a side door which could be a little wider.

Receptionist bent over backward to accommodate a very last minute request for an accessible room. Also breakfast is a very reasonable price for a full cooked breakfast

I have walked past this place many times on previous visits to the city without realising it was an hotel but it is actually a very good hotel in an excellent location just opposite Southern Cross station. Check-in was very good and my room was ready even though I was a bit early and this was really appreciated after an early start to the day when I had commitments late in the afternoon. The room was nice with a comfortable bed.

There really was not anything that I could pick out to criticise. This place is definitely in the mix for when I plan trips to Melbourne in the future.

Noise from equipment outside our windows in quadrangle, told reception and they said it was from building opposite, not very comfortable, advise guests to carry earplugs for a restful night sleep. Great start celebrating my wifes birthday, wont do this again!

Fabulous location. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable accommodation.

The building is aging a bit and the elevator was a bit sketchy at times.

Location was great as we where travelling from Southern Cross station early morning.Lots of options for meals around the area.

It was safe and easy to access for where I needed to go. The room was adequate.

I felt the hand basin was probably a little high and I am glad I wasn't any shorter. I was also disappointed I couldn't get Sky News (Ch 601) on the television. There was at least 3 Sky sports channels, which I couldn't care less about. There was a lot going on in the political space whilst I was in Melbourne and I was unable access my go to source for information. PS. I don't like main stream media.

The foyer was a bit smelly. Almost had a bit of a urine smell about it. The staff were a bit robotic. Not as welcoming as the last couple of times we stayed which was around 7-10 years ago

Location in CBD is fantastic, if you can't walk to where you want yo go, tram and train across the road.

We upgraded our room to king premium as we wanted more space and a chair to sit on as per advertised photos and descriptions. We got a lovely room, but no space or table/chair. When we asked reception we were told because our room has a assessibily bathroom the room is smaller and they could not offer us an alternative. Total waste of an upgrade and very disappointed with their response. We never requested nor needed a assessibily bathroom, what we needed was somewhere to sit, like a chair !

Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly too.

when you stay longer than 1 night the superior rooms are recommended for space and modern comfort

Every thing t.v not working, did get changed to another room ,right over air conditioning, spare pillow had blood on it pillow slip had large marks on.it

Location was great. Staff were friendly.

The car park was terrible to get in and out of. Very small and tight. Not worth the cost. Ididn’t like that I needed to leave my car keys with reception in case they needed to move my car.Light unpleasant aroma in the lounge area.

Ideally situated for the main Southern Cross Station and a tram stop 1 min away round the corner. Lovely view from our room. Washing machine available, and dryer. Large room and king size bed which was very comfy. Staff friendly and helpful.Car parking available on site but its a squeeze. We had a Nissan X trail, anything bigger wpuod be a nightmare and unlikely to fit round the tight corners.

Can hear the trains but we still slept well
