Waterton Park Hotel

The spa is the best thing about the hotel and is probably the only reason I would go back.

I have been a few times now tried different rooms there isn’t much difference in them… the reception staff lovely as always but the rest of the staff look miserable and are rude and it made it quite uncomfortable to talk to them also giving my daughter degrading looks as grown adults isn’t what I would expect … dinner was horrible and a waste of money and breakfast there isn’t any point as a vegetarian there wasn’t much and I waited nearly 25 minutes for a croissant we will not be returning for food again

The room was disappointing. Handles missing off the furniture, bed was so old and uncomfortable there was a leak from the roof which kept us awake most of the night. When we reported it the next morning we were told to send an email about it. We were told there was a £20 per person charge for using the facilities, we didn't pay this as when we checked them out the jacuzzi had no water in it.

The room only had a single sofa seat rather than a proper couch so felt we couldn’t comfortably enjoy the room or watch the tv, also the restaurant did not service proper meals it was all snack food which was a shame ended up having to order a local takeaway

We had a wonderful stay here for our daughters 4th birthday. We had a huge family room! The staff were amazing, so accommodating and so lovely to our daughter and to us. The staff definitely made our stay so much better, the service for food was perfect and staff were always checking in to make sure we were ok.

The breakfast wasn't the best, expensive for what it was and not much selection. Would be nice to add a bit more variety.Our evening meal was really nice but the drinks were super expensive!

Great location, amazing view and rooms were clean and good size.

You have to pay extra to use the facilities. We came for a leisure stay and found out it costs an additional £15 per person for just two hours of swimming. All guests only get free access from 7–9am, while breakfast is served from 8–10am, you can imagine how uncomfortable this is.Children are only allowed to use the facilities from 7–9am and 4–6pm (even if you want to pay, you can’t)!

Had to ask of room was ready 20 minutes after 3pm check in time, room key didn’t work had to return to reception 3 times meaning we didn’t actually get into our room until 3:50. We were told by the reception staff children could swim between 4-6 it was not clear prior to booking that this would be an extra charge of £45! The ‘heated’ pool was cold and my 9 year was shivering after 30 minutes so we had to get out. The sauna was out of order and we were not able to use any of the other facilities as advertised. We were not offered any information about treatments. The bar staff in the reception area were discussing another colleague inappropriately and moaning about people putting pumps on incorrectly! There was no children’s menu available. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. There was no sky available in the lounge area so my children had very little to do as they wanted to watch the darts in the evening. The door at the front of the building was left open so it was freezing cold.
