Holiday Inn Express Denver Downtown By IHG

Hotel is in central downtown Denver --- the location was fantastic! Staff was friendly and helpful. Valet parking was safe and secure. Rooms are clean and surprisingly quiet for a downtown hotel. Breakfast was good and had lots of options. (Honestly, breakfast was a surprise!)

Rooms are small and without a refrigerator or microwave. Parking is $49/night, otherwise it is paid public parking off site.

Great location

The room was super small, there was a roach in the sheets and mold on the breakfast biscuits. There was also no on site parking unless you used the valet.

Front desk floor smelled bad. Air conditioning is not up to par. They provided a fan though which was useful. Not comfortable.

Staff was polite

Sheets on my bed were stainedLobby smelled like something was rotting.Walls are paper thin we stayed in room 664. Tuesday night we could hear everything from 663 and Wednesday morning we could hear everything from room 665. AC was brokenToilet didn't flush properly.We left Wednesday night instead of Friday morning and were told there wouldn't be a refund.

The location is very good, the staff is very friendly and helpful. A breakfast buffet was served every day with a variety of choices (hot and cold.) The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

The airconditioning was not functioning as well which made the room hotter than I would have liked. This was a temporary problem which hopefully now has been fixed. However, the temperature in the room cannot be individually controlled as the thermostats do not work which could mean it's colder/hotter than ideal.The hot water in the shower could not be turned on without first getting wet with cold water which is also not ideal.

The location is good

There was no hot water for shower (only lukewarm), and the heating broke down completely during the night so that the room was chilly in the morning. The heating did not work (see pic) and the hotel window started to freeze (see pic) The breakfast room was so cold that one needed a jacket and a hat. I complained about the coldness, and there was indeed a problem with the boiler room. When I asked for a reduction of the room they just took my e-mail address, but I did not receive anything. The staff was not really interested in my concerns and they did not come forward with suggesting a compensation although there was an evident problem.

Good location, rooms size good

The staff could be a little bit more friendly. The front desk was okay. We asked for some toiletries and the guy that delivered it to us did not smile or greet us. Kind of scary.
