Clean, comfortable and great location in the heart of LA’s Japantown. Valet parking is available if you’re interested, although not exactly cheap.
The windows are not really soundproof, so expect to hear police cars and ambulances at night.

Staff is very friendly and attempts to accommodate. Room was very small - but clean - and the furniture was old and industrial. Guest conversation in next room was quite audible so I changed rooms. 2nd room didn't have a desk or closet. Rooms facing 2nd Street will have to deal with noise from the next door bar's outdoor seating and very loud and long commercial trash collection noise every day at about 5-6am. I recommend this hotel for its proximity to courthouse, gov't offices and angel's flight, and cleanliness and nice staff.
Small rooms, industrial furnishings, noise from neighbors.

Great location and convenience
Loud air conditioner and we had to download an app and register an account for the washing machine

I think the hotel is really good value for money. The rooms were clean, and the sheets, towels etc were all very clean and satisfactory. The window looked over a car park, and the rooms were very dark, which gave a little bit of a depressed feeling. But other than that, I thought it was value for money. The common microwave in the lobby was very useful. The staff were polite and helpful.
Though the decor of the rooms are dated and gives a very basic experience. If they updated the tables and the consoles for example - there would be a much better experience. The carpets in the corridors and the rooms have to be changed. Probably is the one thing that I did not find clean. The moment you get out of the lifts, you notice the carpets and some stains on the carpets. Luckily I bought my own slippers to wear in the rooms.

Extremely comfortable room. Comfortable bed. Dark interior for sleeping. Hotel seemed secure. Nice coffee mugs. Close to Metro stop. Staff was friendly. Unusual breakfast was tasty. Returned to restaurant for sushi dinner. Chef was engaging. Food was excellent. The nearby Japanese village looked fun, though we just walked through briefly. We arrived and departed LA by train and the hotel was conveniently located near the Amtrak station. We took an Uber to the hotel but realized later it's only one stop away from Union Station by Metro. We took the Metro to get back to Union Station for our departure. If you're coming to LA on the train, this hotel is perfectly located.
I wish they would have told me we qualified for a discount at breakfast instead of just placing a not very clear coupon in our key package. I missed out on saving.

Clean, modern, stylish and wonderful staff. Every person there was cordial, polite and attentive. Our beds were very comfy, the bathroom was exceptional with a bidet, and the products were of spa quality. The hotel was beautiful and the location was perfect for us.
Nothing.

Really good location, with parking available. Loved the lobby with the cafe - great staff and amazing coffee and teas. Very nice front desk group. Felt very safe - lots of staff around and available.
I tried to book a room for a future date, but the hotel for some reason had that weekend blocked off. Then just one very expensive room was available for the time frame. Eventually the hotel released the blocked rooms but by that time I was committed to another hotel.

Hotel is very newly renovated, luxurious looking and tucked into a very quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. Hotel is very popular among the Japanese and Asian tourists which makes it very comfortable for us as fellow Asians visiting the city. Hotel is also very well connected to the bus and metro system with the station being just one traffic light away and the bus stop also one traffic light away in the other direction. Staff was also very friendly and they had already prepared all the paper work prior to our arrival allowing us to check in within less than 5 mins, which helped to make it a very seamless experience especially since we were coming from a long day in Disneyland. Rooms were spacious with enough amenities around for use. The air conditioning was strong and comfortable as well.
The hotel has a matcha Cafe available for hotel guests to patronise if they so wish, (however, it seems like the Cafe is only open in the mornings? Tried to come back earlier to probably buy something back to the room at 5 pm but the cafe was already closed by then) So I assume that the Cafe is more of a breakfast thing if you do not wish to pay the USD20+ for the breakfast at the 2nd floor of the hotel. At other times, there is a convenience store available in the hotel (accessible only via room key cards). Variety of items is nothing to be complained about but the prices are on the higher side but I guess that's a last resort if you happen to have some late night cravings and you don't want to go too far from the hotel.
