Ace Hotel and Swim Club Palm Springs

The property was nice and the location was extremely convenient to everything downtown. The bed and bedding were so comfortable

You could hear everything from the neighbors, between them talking, walking up the stairs, and the hotel door slamming closed. The shower water and pressure were almost nonexistent and the sick water had such an awful sulfur taste and smell when brushing teeth. The drinks at the bar were not very good, they had terrible after taste and seemed like they were batch made. Wouldn’t recommend the bar to anybody.

I've been coming to the Ace for over a decade personally & with my work (production). This last trip I noticed so much was revamped & updated. Where there were plenty of opportunities to spruce up they seemed to have taken care of all of it. Understanding there are new "extras" to be charged for. (i.e. certain seating by the pool) there were also plenty of times where staff went out of their way to provide me excellent service (i.e I spilled an entire cocktail mere minutes after bringing to my lounge chair - & we given a second one to replace it.) The front desk was so kind when I arrived a few hours early & helped me with early check in - no problem. There was a year or two where I avoided being a guest here because of the lack of customer service & facilities quality; this time around it's just as I remembered when it first opened.

This used to be a good hotel. Its standards have dropped drastically.

-The music by the pool is SO INSANELY LOUD you cannot even think, and it goes ALL DAY LONG (something like 12 pm to 9 pm). The DJ also had terrible taste (think bad remixes of JLo type pop music and nonstop Unst Unst). They used to have cool chill music at a normal level. I used to look forward to that aspect of the hotel. Now it’s trying to be Vegas and it’s an absolute headache. When we tried to escape to our room, the rumbling of the bass was even more amplified at a distance. It was the furthest thing from relaxing. -Sneaky Kleenex box cover in bathroom tells you not just that they won’t wash towels if you don’t ask for it, they also WON’T TIDY YOUR ROOM unless you ask. They will literally only come in your room to replenish the mini bar while leaving your bed unmade and room a total mess. How do they justify this?? The environment!?? I have never experienced this in a hotel. If I wanted an Airbnb I would stay at one. I chose to stay at a hotel. I only found this out after leaving the room for several hours and coming back to find it a mess. -More to that point, when my husband and I ordered room service, our entire order came in a brown paper to go bag filled with cardboard takeout boxes along with plastic utensils (ala Uber Eats). Not a plate to be found. My salad in fact came in 3 mini boxes - two separate salad boxes and a third box for the chicken I added to the salad. what in the world?!?!? This was beyond trashy. When I called to ask for a plate the receptionist got in a screaming fight with me. Don’t gaslight me into thinking this is normal. room service this was NOT.

The location is great and the staff is somewhat friendly.

Unfortunately, there were bugs in our room. We moved to a second room just to find more bugs.

I liked the location

The property was a little old looking, lots of kids, I got charged for food at the pool that wasn’t me and they refused to give me a refund. Rooms and showers were tiny and looked like camping tent vibes inside. I expected the ace to have a bit of luxury but none was visible. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Fantastic hotel! Loved the comfortable bed, and the patio. Pool area with DJ was awesome! Our 18 year old daughters had the best time! Location is great, close to everything in Palm Springs.

Fireplace wasn't working, so make sure they double check that if you want the room with patio and fireplace.

Staff was friendly and helpful.

Basic hotel amenities like slippers in rooms, hot water kettles.

The hotel used to be such good value, but since adding a compulsory resort fee this place is expensive and there lots of other hotels that offer better value in the area. My hope is that the recent renovations do not increase the price. There are so many good hotels in PS. They need to stay competitive. Still love the place!
