Very friendly/informative reception staff, lovely grounds, great location

Nice pool and dog walking track.Great location.Nice gardens and nice old building.Bar was nice.Good parking availability.

Our second room in an annex was a bit basic.Dog poo bins not emptied and one poo bin knocked over on the ground.Shower in pool very high pressure.Barman was also doing reception.

The location

It was very noisy in the room I was given also I was given a room with a disabled bathroom which wasn’t needed.

Location was great. The downstairs of property was very clean and decorated well. The lady on the front desk was welcoming.

The shower screen in room 7 was mouldy. The kettle in the room needs replacing , upon boiling it the plastic of the handle was hot to touch - didn’t use this again as didn’t seem safe. The whole room is in need of painting. Skirting boards and paint on walls chipped, and the room in general wasn’t as clean as the downstairs of the hotel. The room was disappointing.

Beautiful location, lovely hotel. Swimming pool was great and the food - evening meal and breakfast was good.

Decor little dated and the cost to check in early was a little steep £25.00. Check in wasn’t till 4pm which is a little late.

Very easy to find and accessible to town. We thought we would have issues with parking as per previous comments but there were quite few spaces and we did not have a problem at all! The check in was fairly late but a check out at 11 am evens this out! The staff were ever so lovely and very welcoming! The room was clean and comfortable! We will be definitely be coming back again. Can’t think of anything to improve!

Amy on front desk was super positive and extremely helpful. Lovely welcome. Great location. Very relaxed atmosphere.

The room was quite dirty and dusty, lots of cobwebs. The towels were stained. The indoor 'heated' pool was freezing. Breakfast was very basic.

Beautiful grand hotel, spotless rooms, we stayed in the cottages and it was great, highly recommend if you have a dog, so many other dog owners there, they even have a dog area on the grounds for exercise.

I feel the rooms need modernising, and the doors need painting they are grubby and not inviting. Need bigger newer SMART TV

It is one of the best dog friendly hotels we have ever stayed at. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Our bathroom floor was very slippy, we only had face towels but it was quickly resolved.

Staff, food and beds were great.

Room could have been clearer. Toilet wouldn't flush properly. Shampoo not been replaced.

Beautiful hotel, stunning views and delicious food. Very friendly staff at reception as well as in the restaurant. Great swimming pool, not very busy. Close to the lake, walking distance with a beautiful walking path around the lake. We were for Valentine's and they decorated the room beautifully.

Limited food menu, noisy in hotel room as can hear others loudly from other rooms.

Stayed in the family room. Good pool. Good location.! Room was clean else. Breakfast was just alright. Staff were fine, would have been nicer if they were friendlier. If I stay here again it would just be for the pool which my kid loved - Not crowded and adequately heated.

Beds not the most comfortable especially the single bed in the family room. Mould on the bathroom ceiling, although was expecting something of the sort from some reviews on Google. Bathroom had no shower curtain which was a bit ridiculous, not even a raised edge to the shower area, so water everywhere!

Food was lovely. Hotel was lovely and clean.

There was a power cut my kids got scared! We had to just go to bed as it was so dark.

Hot breakfast precooked and hard bacon and sausage. Only scrambled eggs no fried but continental was good.Not very pleasant breakfast atmosphere or reception.Lack plugs in room and had to move kettle to very small table to plug in so dangerous.

This was a stay for my parents as it was also my dad’s birthday at the same time. They loved the hotel by all accounts

Lovely gardens and nice views and really nice walks to Bowness-on-Windermere plus Windermere
