Wonderful bedroom with a spectacular seaview. Amazing breakfast. Staff very friendly

Close to shops and beach

No kettle and small fridge. Since we have a kid, we needed it.

Good location right in front of the beach. Very convenient parking underneath the hotel so you can go straight to the lobby using the lift. Lots of choice at the breakfast.

Bunk beds are not confortable.

Good and cosy rooms. Good food, good kitchen, great staff.

Bit hard to get used to new beds, but that is personal, not necessarily generaly bad.

AC didn't work in the room, only a ventilation system. Even in November the room temperature was around 23 degrees, too much for a comfortable sleep in family room with 4 people. So we had to open all windows. This can be noisy if your room faces the busy promenade.

Paying for parking was a struggle as the recommended app showed the vehicle hadn't entered the premises (issue with British plates) and the only payment machine wasn't fully fit for purpose

My queen room was very small, didn't have any closet.... just one hanger which wasn't enough ... ironing was soo uncomfortable.... will have to ask for an upgrade on my next stay... not sure to what tbh. Didn't feel even close to Q of "queen"

The breakfast was very good. We got a large room upgrade, but paid extra for very early check-in. Very good idea to offer paid early check-in. The room var large and nice. The location of the place is perfect, with very easy access to the beach and also free use of a gym from an large chain. Nice view to to the sea, and short walking distance to the city centre and to the nice places to see. We will come here again

Parking in the parking garage belopw the hotel is getting expensive, and so is the regular price for the rooms

The location is perfect because we had a ferry early in the morning.

The ferry departs early, before breakfast opens. They give you a bag with some bread and fruits. Seriously for the price paid, this breakfast option is just horrendous. Barely eatable. I don’t recommend this if you have a ferry to catch.

Some parts of the hotel could be adjusted for the little ones, as this is a family friendly hotel. For example the sinks are too high, so a small chair or stool would help.

The hotel is very nice, very clean. The family room was perfect with two bunk beds and fantastic view on the titular bystranda. The breakfast was perfect. There even was a wafflemaker with waffles concoction. Perfect, very Scandinavian!What's also great is that the hotel is connected with Aquarama aqua park so you don't have to leave the building when you're going there. You can also lend towels at the reception since Aquarama doesn't provide them.

I visit the Scandic Bystranda since many years. It´s always great, comfy and clean. Sometimes, mostly in summer also for Kristiansand overprized. From the hotel it´s easy to walk into the city or harbor and to the restaurants. Breakfast is amazing and everybody will for sure find something. I really liek the hotel.

Parking in the basement was good. Check-in was fast.

The room was sparse, tired and impersonal. Looked like it had seen a lot of use by careless people and needed refurbishing. Charging stations in Kristiansand don't have charging cables, you need to bring your own. The hotel didn't have one to lend so I couldn't charge. Really didn't like the room, it wasn't cheap, I'm not going back.
