The setting, the interior decoration, the convenience of the restaurant. The rooms could definitely use some updating especially the bathrooms but a lot of thought and consideration has gone into them and for the guest experience.

Top Tips
- Focus accommodations within 0-3 miles of Mount Snow base to avoid daily car transfers. Several major chains, such as Marriott and Hilton, have locations within this radius. Confirm walking distance on hotel layouts or request shuttle schedule details before booking to fit your mobility and timing needs.
- Albany International Airport (ALB) is the closest major gateway, with a typical drive of 75-90 minutes to West Dover. Booking a chain hotel with airport shuttle or transfer options can streamline your arrival; verify shuttle operating hours in advance, as some may have seasonal schedules.
- Allow an extra 20-45 minutes for winter drives on Route 100 and VT-9 due to frequent snow delays. Check VTrans alerts for any chain requirements or weather advisories before departure. Many hotel front desks provide live road updates, and some hotels offer onsite or covered parking.
- Expect additional condo or resort fees such as cleaning ($75-$350) and security holds. Always compare the final full price before confirming. Major hotel brands may offer transparent, bundled pricing with fewer surprise add-ons. Ask about waived resort or amenity fees for loyalty members.
- For groceries, ATMs, and pharmacies, plan a stop in Wilmington, about 8-12 minutes or 5-9 miles from West Dover. Many chain hotels offer minibars and basic sundry shops onsite, but selection is limited. Check if local stores deliver to your hotel.
- Confirm your unit’s parking and gear logistics before booking. Ask about the distance from parking to entrance, storage options, or dedicated ski lockers, as these vary by property. Many hotels offer valet and secure gear storage; inquire about step-free access or elevators for transporting gear.
- West Dover tap water is treated and potable, so there is no need to buy bottled water for drinking. Bring a reusable bottle to reduce waste; many hotels provide refill stations in the lobby or fitness area. If your hotel is Vermont Green-certified, you may find additional sustainability features.
- For peak winter holidays (Dec 15-Jan 5) and summer weekends (June 15-Sept 15), rates can surge 20-30%. Book 6-9 months ahead to secure your preferred room and avoid seasonal price spikes. Some brands offer early booking discounts or flexible cancellation policies.
- Visiting during off-season periods—April to May or September to November—often brings 15-25% accommodation discounts. Major hotel chains may offer extra perks or upgrades during these windows. Check for bonus loyalty point promotions if visiting in off-season.
- Vermont adds a 9% rooms tax and 6% sales tax, sometimes excluded from initial rate quotes. Confirm with your hotel that your quoted total includes all taxes before you finalize your reservation.
- Frequent visitors can leverage loyalty programs like Mount Snow Rewards or Marriott Bonvoy to earn free nights or upgrades with repeat stays. Enroll before booking to maximize point accrual and claim available status benefits. Check if your stay qualifies for limited-time bonus point offers.
- Hotels and resorts in West Dover commonly allow pets for a nightly fee of $20-$50. Always confirm the property’s pet policy, including restrictions and fee amounts, before booking. If traveling with a pet, request a ground floor room or one with nearby outdoor access.
- Request an accessible room when booking, as many hotels and resorts offer ADA-compliant options but availability may be limited. Specify needs such as step-free access or visual alarms. You can also ask for additional accessibility aids like shower chairs or TTY devices.
- Typical West Dover Wi-Fi speeds range from 15-25 Mbps, which may be limited during peak season. If you plan to work remotely, confirm actual speeds at your hotel and ask about backup connectivity in the event of outages. Some hotels offer business centers or Ethernet connections for greater reliability.
- Choose properties certified as Vermont Green Hotels, such as Mount Snow Resort, to support sustainable travel. These hotels implement energy and waste reduction practices verified by certification. Ask about specific green amenities like in-room recycling or EV charging stations.
