Coot Club

The Coot Club is an outstanding property, the decor and furnishings are beautiful. The Staff are helpful and accommodating. The meals were incredible, fresh, wholesome and imaginative, in the best way possible. We thoroughly enjoyed our Boat House Lodge, it was cosy, comfortable and secluded.

The location is stunning. The facilities and communal areas where you can choose to spend some time, other than in the very comfortable accommodation is delightful. We had beautiful weather which definitely made enjoying the outdoors facilities spectacular. The staff were superb. Having the option to eat on-site makes for a very convenient stay.

Loved the premises and had an amazing time. The team was lovely and the surroundings exquisite. Amazing for kids too: A nice play area indoor and outdoor & It was great to interact also with the other guests, a young family, which was great for my son.

Nothing - it was a feast!

We cannot recommend this place enough , everything was exceptional. The food , location , room and staff were simply incredible. We were travelling with a toddler and the coot club staff couldn’t do enough for us, it’s so well catered for kids. We can’t wait to come back!

Our only regret was not staying for longer !

WOW! This place is amazing. Loved everything about it. Stayed in the starboard beach house with the most magnificent view. The decor is stunning and so comfortable. The staff at Coot Club are fantastic nothing is too much trouble so friendly and helpful.

Everything was exceptional, the hospitality, the stuff, the accommodation itself and the view. Everything was amazing

Unfortunately the road was damaged and muddy due to the storm which require to park your car in different location and they have arranged a transportation for you. I hope they can fix the road urgently.

Chris was exceptional with the kids . It was the best ever vacation for them. Chris and Ella really make you feel at home.

The 2 bedroom stone bungalow needs a makeover which is being done by Sep.

Staff service was excellent and the location is stunning. Lots to do there.

The road getting to place is under construction. I thought that the pricing for the adult diners was a bit high.

Everything! Go there and you will not regret. Take the gravel street as the beginning of an adventure in this historical accommodation!We and our kids especially liked:- the cottages- the play room- the restaurant - the jetti and the sundowners at the jetti (our kids preferred the crisps and the dried mangoes anyways)- the trip with the 4x4 to the beach with Becky- The self guided hikes with Google earth- …You can feel the new spirit of the coot club and the spook house, please keep it that way!!

Nothing, looking forward to the renewals of the cottages though.

room was a little noisy at night, not enough towels and outside light didn't work but other than that it was perfect

Amazing stay - Chris and Ella were unbelievable hosts and Coot Club is the perfect set-up for a family with young kids. The views / food / everything was spectacular!

The road into the hotel was rough and full of pot holed - very hard going to drive - obviously not the fault of the hotel, but useful for guests to know.

Coot Club is a wonderful addition to the south coast of South Africa. The boathouses are divine - beautifully furnished with extraordinary views. The Spookhuis is a gem - and those milkwoods around the dining area are priceless. The pizzas on Friday nights are perfect and the light lunch was just what we wanted after a long walk to the sea and a kayak. Ben and Michele were both very warm and welcoming and helped pack cooler boxes and organize dinner last minute on the first night.

While not a game changer, it would be nice to have some private outdoor space at the Boathouses, or some seating outside. We cooked dinner there on the second night, but as there was no braai, we had to make another plan. As well, the door between the main bedroom and kitchen was in an awkward position and kept sticking.

Justin and the team have created a truly magical place. Beautiful grounds, amazing facilities and food, wonderful staff.

The dining setting is magical under the trees or inside the sensational Club House. Loved the staff who had empathy, wit, humour, made us feel at home and anticipated our needs well.
