It's good value for the money. The location is good, but there are a lot of homeless people in this neighborhood.
The kitchen is well-equipped, but there were cockroaches.

Facilities and room are clean. I like best is separate male and female rooms. Safe environment. I also like bathroom, toilet and sink are all in one room. Free breakfast and a variety of items. I particularly like the self-prepared waffles. Comfy lounge. Laundry charges are cheaper than outside laudromats. 24-hour front desk. It's worth the room charges.
None.

Good location for a 3 night vacation stay. Had a private room with en suite. No air con but could open window for fresh air. Closed at night to keep street noise down. Building old but okay. Enough room for us even though we had 2 big suitcases. Simple but satisfying breakfast included. Cereal, fruit, waffles, juice and tea/coffee. Staff helpful and friendly.
Air con but wasn't needed in Fall when we were there. Only issue was asked to pay when we arrived but forgot we had paid months earlier via Booking.com. We realised next day and staff identified the problem and quickly processed a refund for the double payment. They had to look at the old Booking.com record and saw our payment.

The staff was kind and welcoming. The hostel is close to the BART and MUNI.
OVH cuts some corners: there are no working sinks in the bathrooms, so be prepared to wash your hands in the shower. Instead of a bath towel, they give each guest a dish towel for showering. Also, OVH is in the Tenderloin district, so there is a lot of human and animal feces on the sidewalk - watch your step! Also, bring good earplugs because the street noise goes all night and a lot of windows are open for ventilation.

The room was spacious and comfortable mattresses and pillows. We booked the twin bed in suite bathroom and it was facing a quiet side of the street on the 4th floor. Location was central, they had good security. Breakfast was great, yogurt, cereal, bananas, waffles and toast. Nutella and peanut butter. The hostel was clean and friendly.
It is on the border of Tenderloin and Union Square, so a few doors down are a lot of homeless people and they did not feel safe in the evenings

Good location, near public transportation and landmarks, clean hostel, elevator or lift available, breakfast included, friendly and kind personnel, easy to find and affordable.
Dorms face the street, and the street noise makes it difficult to rest properly at night.Included breakfast is plentiful but just carbs; it would be great to include some proteins. There are too many homeless anddrug-addicts in the surrounding areas; they don’t bother you, but it is uncomfortable walk with them everywhere. Not the hostel fault obviously but it affects the visiting experience.Either way I’ll be back to this hostel without hesitation.

Easy check in, secure, clean, affordable, I ended up having a room by myself so it was nice and quiet. I had an appointment the next morning at the SF Passport Agency so this was a perfect one night stay. Front desk staff was courteous.
It was a solid stay. Hmm only thing I didn't see was hand soap in the my room. I know it's a hostel so I don't expect much but I could've used it.

The breakfast was more on the sweet side but there are different options. We had our own room with the bathroom and it was very clean. The location is close to most of the things.
Everything was as we expected
