Clean and close to everything.
I felt like I was in some sort of horror movie. Such an adrenaline rush.
The charge for each dog was $30, that is just insane. NOwhere is the price listed on their website.

Close to airport (walking distance). Minimal in terms of room and amenities but did not expect much more than that. Late check in as my flight was late getting in, but the front desk guy was happy to help and nice to deal with. would stay again.

Location and quality of the room.
The bed and tub
Location. Pet friendly. Security camera over parking area although not sure how closely it is monitored. Whitehorse has a reputation for B&E and vandalism. Hotel is well lit and a lot cleaner than its Westmark days.

It was more than I ever expected to find in rural Yukon Territory. The owners obviously take pride in maintaining a well cared-for & operational establishment as well as seeing to the comfort if their guests.
Beautiful room with a comfortable bed and nice selection of breakfast food including high quality fruit.
Great care taken in decorating and supplying the room with quality items. Bed very comfortable, Kitchen Aid pots and pans, nice dinner ware, glasses and cups. Keurig coffee maker. We recommend highly to anyone staying in that area.

Top Tips
- Book your Whitehorse hotel at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance during peak periods (June-August for summer, December-March for aurora season). Rates and room selection often tighten during major events like the Yukon International Storytelling Festival, so early booking helps secure lower prices and preferred amenities.
- Select hotels offering free airport shuttle service from Erik Nielsen International Airport (YXY) to save approximately CA$15 (approx. US$11) on a 5-10 minute taxi or ride-share trip to downtown. Confirm the shuttle schedule, as service frequency often dips after 20:00.
- Confirm your hotel provides heated rooms and winter gear storage, essential in Whitehorse where temperatures can drop to -40°C. For Northern Lights chasers, ask if blackout curtains or aurora wake-up calls are available to enhance your viewing experience.
- Respect local heritage, including the presence of 14 First Nations such as Kwanlin Dün, by learning about area traditions and supporting local businesses when possible. In Canada, tip 15-20% for restaurant service and CA$2-5 per day for housekeeping; confirm with the front desk if local practice varies.
- For aurora enthusiasts, many hotels offer on-demand wake-up calls or dedicated viewing decks during the active Northern Lights season (late August-April). Ask staff about viewing schedules and the best locations onsite.
- Wi-Fi and parking are typically included in room rates for most central Whitehorse hotels, though policies may differ for larger vehicles or long-term stays. Confirm your needs are covered before booking, especially if you plan to rent a car for exploring sites beyond the city centre.
- Canadian law requires valid government-issued photo identification for hotel check-in; international visitors should use a passport. Expect a federal GST of 5% on accommodations, plus possible city or territorial tourism levies—review booking details for the final price.
- Discover local activities—hotel staff often recommend guided tours like Yukon Wildlife Preserve visits or dog sledding, both within a 30-minute drive of downtown. Ask for tailored recommendations to match your interests or accessibility needs.
- Downtown Whitehorse is walkable within a 1.5 km (1 mi) radius, but attractions like Miles Canyon or Takhini Hot Springs are 10-30 minutes by car. Compare car rental costs with local taxi and public transit schedules if you plan excursions outside the centre.
- Check for room features aligning with your travel style: families may want pool access, kitchenettes, or suites (often at least 30 m²); business travelers should verify high-speed internet and work desk availability. Contact the property directly for accessibility or allergy-sensitive room requests.
- Explore regional flavors—many local restaurants serve wild game, Alaska-caught fish, or Yukon craft beers. Ask hotel staff for at least two restaurant or brewery recommendations within 1 km (0.6 mi) of your hotel to sample authentic Whitehorse cuisine.
- Expect higher hotel rates than southern Canada due to Whitehorse’s remote location. Compare deals across platforms like Expedia or Priceline and look for rooms with flexible cancellation policies, as these can offset potential weather-related disruptions.
