We loved our room. It was spacious clean and well thought out decor and design. Very cozy and quiet. Walking distance to beach and shops.
Great attention to detail from the lovely welcome basket full of goodies to the kitchen supplies and fixings to the decorative touches throughout the suite. The grounds are lovely & suite was immaculate and provided all the comforts of a high end spa.

Excellent historic site, rooms are obviously dated, but that adds to the charm of the experience. Excellent service from the staff and check in/out was a breeze.
The dinner buffet in the Lakeside dining room was basically warmed up food. The steak was well done and basically tough.
We stayed closed to the service elevator we don¿t mind some noise but the back door slammed really loud and we heard some noise behind the wall and ceiling must be some creatures managed to get in the building.

Location was great, room was great
The check in clerk was rude and inattentive. You sent me an email stating that check in would be 12 noon. The hotel does not honor that. Perhaps you should not send such emails in the future without checking with the hotel.
Location, was value for money and we got a renovated room that was beautifully done, gorgeous fireplace, bathroom was nice, shower was hot. The evening concierge was very helpful and friendly, I don't remember his name. Linens were clean.

We liked the style and cleanliness of the room. The breakfast provided was great both in the choices and the clean environment to eat in. The young lady even had a small menu posted at the door which was a very nice touch.

Top Tips
- Choose hotels in Promontory or Sardis, located on higher ground, to reduce flood risk from November to March. In 2021, road closures and disruptions affected low-lying areas like Sumas Prairie and the Vedder River, so confirm the hotel's location if visiting during the wettest months.
- Abbotsford Regional Airport (YXX) provides the closest air access, located 30-35 km (19-22 mi) or a 25-35 minute drive from downtown Chilliwack; Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is farther at 90-110 km (56-68 mi) or 1-1.5 hours by car. Verify current ground transport schedules to and from YXX, as they can vary seasonally.
- Hotel demand increases 2-4 weeks ahead of summer weekends and holiday long weekends, especially in July and August because of the draw from Cultus Lake Regional Park (12-18 km south). Reserve early for peak dates or major events to secure your preferred room and rate.
- July and August sometimes bring wildfire smoke that reduces air quality in the Fraser Valley. When booking, ask about in-room air conditioning, sealed windows, and filtration; some hotels provide HEPA units by request. Confirm details with the property if you are sensitive to air quality.
- Most major chains, such as Best Western and Holiday Inn Express, include complimentary onsite parking and breakfast. If you require oversized-vehicle parking, call ahead to confirm availability.
- Chilliwack has no commuter rail or frequent public transit to Vancouver, and drives typically take 1-1.5 hours each way. Arrange a rental car or pre-book shuttle service in advance if you plan day trips or need airport access.
- Chilliwack municipal tap water meets Canadian safety standards and is generally safe to drink. If you have allergies or sensitivities, ask your hotel about bottled water options or how their ice and water are sourced.
- Events at Prospera Centre (Chilliwack Chiefs hockey) and the Chilliwack Cultural Centre often raise hotel occupancy, especially 1-3 weeks before major games or performances. Check local event calendars and book in advance during busy periods.
- If you need accessible features, request a step-free or ground-floor room when booking. Newer chain hotels usually have elevators and accessible rooms, while motels along Yale Road or Highway 1 often have exterior steps—review current photos or call the property to confirm accessibility.
