The night staff gentleman was a pure delight, and very helpful.
The hotel is quite nice-- but what makes the experience so great- is the staff. Have stayed here several times due to the great attitude and helpfulness of the hotel staff.

A couple stays so far and stellar service from desk and cleaning staff! Absolutely 100% on taking care of the guests! Rooms are spotless as well as the grounds. Will definitely return!!
Front desk staff is exceptional! Hotel employee was very helpful and very sweet! Of two stays there so far, both were zero hassle and a total pleasure. Your service or family dog is treated like a proper guest and that stands out to me. Rooms were spotless too.

Top Tips
- Select neighborhoods based on your trip focus. Center City places you within 0.5 miles of The Franklin Institute and over 90 restaurants, while Old City offers walkable access to Independence Hall and Liberty Bell within 300 meters. University City is ideal if visiting Penn or CHOP, and Fishtown/Northern Liberties provide over 20 music venues and nightlife spots within 1 mile. Verify the exact distance to your venues before booking.
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is served by the SEPTA Airport Line, with trains running every 30 minutes and a 25 minute ride to Center City. Trenton–Mercer (TTN) offers limited public transit, and hotel shuttles typically operate hourly with fees averaging $15–25, so confirm shuttle timing and availability with your hotel, especially after 20:00.
- Expect state and local sales and occupancy taxes of 14-15% in Pennsylvania; New Jersey rates vary. Hotel parking can add $15–50 nightly and urban fees are common. Always check your final price breakdown for mandatory extras before booking.
- Rates increase up to 40% during major Philadelphia events such as conventions and college move-ins. Book early for the best rates and free cancellation options. Many hotels allow changes up to 24 hours before arrival.
- Downtown hotel parking in Philadelphia can average $38–50 per night, often in offsite garages within a 3-block (0.4 mi) radius. If parking a vehicle, request secure parking confirmation and do not leave valuables inside.
- Most chain hotels provide high-speed Wi-Fi, often 50-100 Mbps, and business amenities like printer or conference rooms. Loyalty members may receive complimentary upgrades; verify available perks at check-in.
- U.S. hotel tipping standards: Bell staff earn $1–2 per bag, valet $2–5 per car, and housekeeping $2–5 per night (leave daily). Room service customarily tips 15–20% unless a service charge is noted on your bill.
- Photo ID and the credit or debit card used for booking are required at check-in. Hotels may hold a refundable security deposit of $15–100 per night. Confirm accepted payment methods and incidentals policy during booking.
- Main Philadelphia tourist areas, such as Center City and Old City, maintain visible security and have active street life day and night. Use the in-room safe for valuables, especially in hotels near public transit hubs.
- SEPTA offers unlimited-ride passes from $15 for daily use across subways, trolleys, and buses; Center City hotel guests can reach major attractions within about 15 minutes. TTN transfers to Center City take 45–75 minutes by car, and public transport is not continuous, so arrange rideshares or hotel shuttles ahead.
- Request cribs, microwaves, fridges, or connecting rooms at booking, as these are subject to availability at most chains. Family packages may include breakfast; verify inclusion and seasonal pool hours before arrival.
- Solo guests are safest in higher-floor rooms within Center City or Old City where foot traffic continues late. Ask the concierge for local recommendations and use in-hotel dining or room service at night if unfamiliar with area streets.
- Convention hotels may sell out 4-8 weeks before events. Choose an onsite or connected property to avoid 20+ minute commutes, and request late checkout and high-floor rooms for quieter stays.
- Accessible rooms with step-free entry, roll-in showers, and visual alarms can be reserved at booking. Confirm with the hotel before arrival and again at check-in. Dietary requests may require 2-3 days’ advance notice.
- Most Philadelphia hotels are 100% smoke-free and some accept pets under 40 lbs, with fees ranging from $75–150 per stay. Always check the pet policy, weight limits, and required deposits with your property.
- Government-issued ID is required for all adult guests at check-in. COVID-19 protocols such as mask or vaccination requirements are rare but may vary by brand. Verify with the hotel 24 hours before arrival for current policies.
- Hotel concierges regularly secure dinner reservations or last-minute event tickets at venues like Walnut Street Café or the Barnes Foundation. Ask about discounted museum passes and local food tours during your stay.
- Philadelphia weather is unpredictable. Pack for rain and temperature swings from 5-30°C (40-86°F) in spring and fall. For noise, request a room away from street-facing nightlife venues and carry earplugs if sensitive to sound.
- Recent guest reviews from the last 90-180 days on TripAdvisor and Google reveal current hotel conditions, room quality, and shuttle reliability. Review recent guest photos to confirm parking and amenity descriptions match the hotel's listing.
- Ask hotel staff about curated local experiences such as Mural Arts tours, Philadelphia Museum of Art passes, or Franklin Square summer concerts. Some hotels offer exclusive rates on tickets or guided events with local partners.
