    • The onsen, the location, the beach, the calm of Hayama, but most importantly, the staff. I'd like to thank the guy at the front desk the day I checked in. He was such a sweet and helpful gentleman, and the food I ordered the following days was also very good. The day I left, I asked the front desk for plastic spoons because I needed to eat some yogurt to boost my probiotic levels before flying, and I was in a hurry to catch a bus to the airport. They looked but couldn't find any plastic spoons. I thanked them and left for the bus stop across the street, but the staff ran outside to catch me right before I boarded the bus to leave and handed me wood spoons. I was embarrassed ? and happy at the same time, thank you so much ?. I left my heart ❤️.
    • The hotel has an onsen with a beautiful ocean view, on a good day you can see mt fuji in the distance. There is a bus station right across the street from the hotel for easy convenience. A couple of convenience store nearby, good food and good people. The closest train station is about a 25 min walk but its a good walk with lots of stores and things to see.
    • I had one of my best stays in Japan at Hayama Umino Hotel and would definitely come back again!Great location, about 25 minutes walk from the station (or you can take a bus, the stop is right in front of the hotel). Close to beaches and many nice restaurants.Beautiful ocean view from the lobby and an amazing onsen with ocean views as well.Staffs are Very polite, kind, and friendly. They also speak English, which made everything easy. You can preselect your breakfast menu the day before and highly recommended.Everything you need is provided (toothbrush, comb, amenities, etc.) and the hotel has free Wi-Fi.

    Cons -

    • Nothing perfect ?
    • If you stay in the bunk bed area, it can get a bit busy between 11 am and 4 pm (the cleaning hours between check-out and check-in). Other than that, everything was perfect.
    • Could have used a shower in the room

Close to the beach, and very clean!

Could have used a shower in the room

Everything! Super comfy capsule bed and awesome set up.The whole vibe was perfect. Location right next to the beach and overall decor was spot on.Onsen was awesome with the best view I have ever had. Staff members were all very nice as well. Will be coming back for sure!

A gem in this little town. Wonderful value for your money. Dormitory style room if you want to stay on a budget and you get access to the onsen and some breakfast. Location is just a short walk away from a couple great restaurants.

The dormitory beds are pretty thin and not the most comfortable.

Special sets for breakfast. I like the room, the onsen and especially the dining area with "Hawaiian" like music and the design of the area. It has an island vibe.

Interior design and ocean view bathroom.

The customer spoke very noisy when breakfast.

The onsen was amazing on property, the breakfast was really good as well. Everything was great about this hotel, nice view of the beach.

The futons in the dorm were a little hard, but that’s with most hostels in Japan. Overall not a big deal still slept great

    10JamesPosted on: 11-25-2024

A brilliant place, and really liked the dorm/bunk rooms for a unique experience! The staff were so nice, great food, and brilliant facilities. The area is very unique, quiet and not very touristy. I loved it! Excellent working spaces and some lovely local restaurants.

The only thing that caught me out are the only showers are those in the onsen (which closes between 10:00-13:00). But a minor issue really once you know.

Bike rental, the view, the lobby overlooking the sea

I wish there had been mugs in the room, there was a kettle but no mugs for tea. On Sunday evening there was a dance performance in the lobby, we were sweaty after our cycle but we had to cross through the performance to get to the elevator, that was quite stressful. The sento closes for cleaning at 10am so you have to get up early to have both breakfast and morning shower, if I am on holiday, i dont want to be awake before 8!

The food, the facilities, the stylish and modern deco, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly!

Everything exceeded by far my expectations! Loved this hostel!

This is a perfect coastal getaway!! One of the best hotels in Japan. I stayed in dorms, which were clean, cozy, common area was very spaceous, great for eating/remote work or chilling. Staff was amazing, thank you so much! You can also rent a bike! Wonderful stay, I’ll be back!

    10AnthonyPosted on: 8-26-2024

Truly have nothing bad to say about my stay! Place was very nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Location is great with bus stops right in front of the hotel going both directions. WiFi was fast and stable.

The Hayama Umino Hotel is the best place I’ve ever stayed in. The capsules are very comfortable. The hotel is so beautiful, clean, aesthetically pleasing and has an onsen on the top floor providing breathtaking views of the ocean. Umino also has free bikes to discover the endless array of beaches. Also, the staff are so warm, professional, and kind. The restaurant creates exceptional dishes at a reasonable price. If you want a relaxing break from Tokyo then this must be the place to stay. You won’t regret it! ~worth every penny. I can’t wait to come back; I love the Umino

    10JasminePosted on: 8-15-2024

So comfortable and chic. I stayed here for 3 nights and it was luxury. Comfy bed, great onsen. if you don’t mind using the onsen for showering which i didn’t it’s for you. great views of the beach from the onsen. staff are very friendly and helpful. free use od the bikes is a bonus.

The best vacation hotel I've ever been to! Great views opens out to the seaside from the modern, stylish, bench style lobby~ super nice staff, great food! Mysterious and interesting bunk room which gives you enough space, privacy, quiteness, feel like hiding under the sea with fishes swiming around you~ amazing! Silly definitely go again ❤??

    10KarinPosted on: 8-4-2024

I stayed in the bunk room. It far exceeded my expectations! Impeccably clean, the bunks are built with the utmost of privacy in mind and are quite large, and the other facilities (lounge, breakfast, onsen) make it an incredible value. Further, the staff was so helpful to me when I lost my wallet right before I checked out, speaking with a Japanese speaking friend of mine (found it later in my backpack). Thank you to all at the Umino! I’ll definitely return!

Nice facility. Clean and modern but not overly done. The location was across from the beach Nice staff. The common area is big enough to enjoy comfortably.

    9LowiePosted on: 7-26-2024

The coastal vibe of the place, good food, onsen overlooking the sea. The staff!

The food choices are a bit limited. We stayed for two nights and it easily got boring.
