Pros +
- Great location and value. We stayed in the 4 person family room.Sleep pods take a little bit of getting used to, but provided some comfortable nights of sleep.
- What a find!!! We booked the private room with a bathroom and a bunk bed. Coming from Tokyo, we were blown away by the quality of the room especially for the price we paid. It felt roomy for the both of us and bathroom was sparkling clean which added to our comfort. Bunk beds were very spacious and the little details that the room had - a privacy blind for each bed to block out light, the charging station by each bed, the reading lamp, lock box - were such a nice touch. The decor was minimal but perfect - loved the wooden accents. Common facilities like the rooftop, kitchen and laundry are also a great addition to the space. And we loved how close it was to the beach, train station and local coffee spots/restaurants.
- It is a short walk from kamakura station and had many cafes nearby. There is lots to see and do around the hostel! They provide for a daily change of towel but you will have to request at the counter.
Cons -
- I don’t think they cleaned our room too well before we got there. There was some dust on my bed-frame and a used paper napkin from a restaurant stuck under one of the beds. There was also a frustrating lack of storage spaces in the room.
- The room was generally clean but was dusty. We found a huge amount of dust underneath the bed and near the reading lamp on the beds. If you are allergic to dust or an asthmatic, I wouldn't recommend this space.
- Nothing!

Nothing!
I liked that the rooms were clean and we had a sense of privacy. The staff spoke English and they were helpful. The rooftop was accessible at night, and we spent quite some time talking up there. The amenities were decent, and the showers and toilet were spacious and clean.
It's not that I didn't like them, it's more of they could improve.1. AC. It was quite hot when we stayed since we were about 6 people in the room. I understand they have their preferences on the temperature, but we had thick blanket (comforters), they could at least make it a little bit cooler for some of us.2. Breakfast time. The time was late (8:15am). I understood why tho, the staff come to work starting 8am so breakfast had to be after that. However, for tourists that would like to explore Kamakura and make the most of our day, around 7:30 would have been the sweet spot.3. Breakfast meal. It was decent. We had salad, maki eggs, small white fish, rice, cold chicken slices, side dish, soup, and drip coffee. But I think it's not even what someone would expect from a Japanese breakfast. Some bread and fruits would've been a better option.
I liked everything about this hotel. It was fantastic staying in bunkbeds. These bunkbeds are the best I have ever seen. I really loved it here and I’m a 55-year-old lady. My daughter and I are here on vacation and I wish we would’ve stayed here a second night. It is close to, station and the shopping Street.
I wish they had some coffee or tea in the room but there is a kettle.
Room, quiet place, location, price without holiday, staff.
Payment method, cancel without making check in. I lost a booking no charges alternative.1th is so badly air.
Clean, safe, and friendly. Great location not far from the station.
The breakfast is handmade and good value for money and the common area is kept clean.
Helpful staff accommodating our late arrival due to train problems, fire in the tracks, which delayed our arrival by more than 2 hours. Good location, close to the station and easy to walk around to the main sites or get a bus. Comfortable room, just enough for our needs. All good!
Good location, clean, and kitchen was well-equipped.
Wasn’t able to add on breakfast despite the welcome leaflet given upon check in mentioned that only one day before of notice was required
A very nice hostel and we had our own small bathroom. It's a bit strange being in a hotel room with people hanging out in the common kitchen to get space away from their shared bedrooms, but that's fine. Staff for the most part was friendly, and the common area near the reception was lively. Wifi worked well for meetings. Walking distance to basically everything near the train station in Kamakura which is awesome.
Especially in the mornings staff at the front reception are hard to access. A person has to pick up their reception phone and call them, but with the lack of English, a person basically just needs them to come to the front desk, not explain what they need over the phone.
Great hostel in a great location. 7min walk from the train station et about 15 from the beach. The staff is great and helpful and the commun area is nice.
The bed is ok, the bathroom is mixed with an open space.
Great location, very clean with lots of privacy. Appreciated the laundry facilities. Only wish beds were not so hard.
Great location, close to the station and central. The rooms are very clean and the bed cubicles are comfortable, with plugs, lamp, hooks and all you need. The shower is spacious and separate from the toilet and sink. The reception personnel is very friendly and helpful. They store our luggage before check in and after check out without any problem or restrictions. I'd definitely recommend this hostel.
Well situated: not far from the train station and the main shrines. Small room but with everything one needs.
Close to station, clean, the staff is friendly and our family room’s beds looked like capsules. A very nice experience
Friendly. Small space organised wonderfully. Large beds.
All was good
Plat hostel was fine, nice location, pleasant front desk staff. Although the bedding was clean, the room had very scuffed walls with strange surface that cold and uncomfortable. The tv connected to Netflix, which was nice after a long day. Front desk staff were very friendly and kind.
I loved our stay at this hostel. Cozy, clean, and friendly and helpful staff. There's a common area where you can work on your laptop. One suggestion, if disposable slippers can be replaced with regular ones, that'd be great.
The staff were very helpful, allowed us to deposit our luggage before checkin. Toilet and bath are spacious and facilities were great.
