Pros +
- Clean, modern, a great location, a big common area is a huge plus. The manager Mori san was very nice and accommodating
- Wonderful place, new or newly renovated, intelligent design and smart use of the space, common dinning/social place with peaceful atmosphere, helpful owner, proximity to train station and two of the main temples.
- It was a very small room with a nice communal lounge on the first floor, but decent enough for a single person. Train station was very close so great location for that, only complaint was they gave only one pillow :(
Cons -
- The automated check-in process was very confusing and annoying. They need to hire a different system provider. The auto lock hardware is non-standard and difficult to figure out. Without the manager it would have been impossible to get in so what is the point?
- The only thing we did not like was the polyester bedding: sheets and cover. It might be a personal choice, but I am comfortable only with all cotton bedding, Luckily I had a cotton yukata with me and used it as lining for the cover. I also used a cotton towel to cover the pillow. While I understand that polyester bedding dries faster and I appreciate the outdoor drying as the more ecologically-friendly alternative, I kindly suggest to the owner to have a couple of all cotton bedding available for people who need it. I would love to stay there again if that would be available.
- Could be a better system for keeping windows open in the rooms. Also I was new to hotels where the managers are not on the premises at all or just for the few check-in hours, which leaves the place a bit empty.

Nice stay, train noise can be distubing during the night and early hours. Some kitchen equipement such as plates would be a plus. Thsnk you!
Fantastic location and the lady allowed me to leave my luggage before check in. It's very clean and I had the best sleep ever for 10 hours straight!!
Location as close as possible to the main Buddhist temple complex AND the train station, with a Lawson's convenience store a few buildings away. Rooms very compact but tasteful and well laid out. The downstairs common area spacious and elegant. Nice collection of art books to peruse from. And the proprietress, who is there for just the three hours of check-in, is extremely warm and engaging.
Could be a better system for keeping windows open in the rooms. Also I was new to hotels where the managers are not on the premises at all or just for the few check-in hours, which leaves the place a bit empty.
The host and location are the biggest stand outs for this small but effective stay. From the moment we got there the host greeted us with a warm smile and all the information we could possibly need making our introduction to Kamakura super easy and welcoming. The stay is located just behind Kita- Kamakura station which was amazing as we could get to any attraction or area we wanted to see. There was no issue of Train noise as the station is very quiet. There are a few Small cafes and breakfast spots on the road just outside and there is a Lawson 1 minute down that makes everything just that bit easier! Great location and a very kind host.
The room was very small and hard to manoeuvre with any big luggage, but manageable for a short stay.
It was clean, the location was great, the atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful! The owner was really kind and friendly!
Is really near the train station and there's a convenience store nearby if you need anything.
The toilet area can get cold at night, so i had to layer up to go to the toilet. im someone that needs to drink warm water, but the kettle was downstairs at the common area. So laziness won over me and i just make do with what i have in the room.
Located just next to Kita-Kamakura Station, about 2-3 minutes’ walk. The room is clean and well-organized. One can hardly feel that the it is actually quite small ( another good feature though, easy to fetch anything and all are at hand). Japanese-styled decoration with actual tatami, AC and a great bathroom and everything people can ask for in a hotel. The hosting lady is one with kind heart and hospitality, I had a good time chatting with her in Japanese (it’s ok if you don’t speak Japanese, the translator she used is of great help)
None,everything’s great?
The house is close to EngakuJi - in style and setup like part of a Zen Hotel. I felt very comfortable in the big center room and enjoyed the hospitality very much. Its all brand new!
New building. Clean, very nicely furnished rooms, Japanese-Scandinavian style with pleasant smell of fresh wood. Comfortable futon bed. Spacious common room. Neighborhood calm and quiet (note that there is a railway station next to the building, but I had windows closed and AC working, so it didn’t disturb me at all). AC works really well also when it comes to air dehumidifier, which was good as despite October the weather was rainy and warm. The owner is super nice and helpful! The place is outside Kamakura, but close to all major temples and two hiking trails - Daibutsu and Ten’en; very green and quiet with lots of small shops, bakeries and good restaurants. Also it’s only 3 min ride with the regional train from Kamakura Station. Fully recommended!
Easy to find. There are a few hidden gems in this part of Kamakura, all are within walking distance to the station/hotel.
It will be even better if there are luggage storage / lockers available at the hotel.
very close to the stationvery cozy place and very warm ownerI had a good time therehopefully I can go back to visit soon!
Very clean, convenient, and perfect for a weekend stay. The property owner was also very friendly and helpful!
clean, uncluttered space. nice design (wood/ white walls). very comfortable room. The owner came to meet me at the station and helped carrying my (heavy) suitcase. I hope to be back
The accommodation was spotless, and a short walk from Kita-Kamakura station, so ideally situated for exploring Kamakura and surroundings. A comfy bed, and roomy shower were welcome after a long day of exploring. The staff were lovely, and despite my minimal Japanese, we managed to communicate well. Great stay!
Honestly, the only complaint is that you can hear the trains going past. Not surprising given it’s right next to the train line. If you’re a lighter sleeper, some earplugs would be a good option.
Nice small inn near Kita-Kamakura Station. Well designed non-smoking rooms with raised tatami area; spacious common area on first floor. Japanese speaking staff.
Very cute place to stay! Loved the vibes and how clean it is. Location is very close to the station, only a set of stairs up to the rooms. People are very nice there.
Hot water sometimes takes a while to come out but other than that, it was great!
Clean and comfortable
Location is ok - a little bit outside town but with good access to hikes. Staff speaks limited English.
