HOTEL AO KAMAKURA

My room was large, clean and comfortable with ample windows and a small balcony. I enjoyed all the complementary drinks. The food was delicious in the hotel restaurant. Staff were polite and helpful. When I was leaving the hotel, I saw a staff member cleaning the metal outside railings individually. Wow! Talk about dedication to cleanliness. I am impressed. Thank you so much for 2 wonderful and relaxed days.

Nice comfortable rooms and good location near the local train. Nice view from roof but not from room.

One thing that bothered me was that I arrived at 2pm, an hour before the Florida’s check-in, and they wanted to charge me an extra $50 for that hour even though the room was ready. I travelled all over the works but never experienced that. I mentioned to the clerk and they just nodded. It’s penny wise and dollar foolish in my opinion. I did not pay but was upset.

Wonderful breakfasts. Walking distance to the local train to Kamakura. Also walking distance to the beach and Sea Candle-a beautiful island.

The hotel itself is very modern.

That you get charged extra for coffee during breakfast (which was included in the booking). In the price range of this hotel, hot drinks during breakfast should definitely be included for free!

Excellent and great location in Kamakura. You can walk to the beach and see the ocean. Great staff! Very friendly. Hotel is modern, stylish. Have stayed there before and will continue to do so. Steps away from the Enoshima line. You can also walk to the island.

Second stay here and still love it!Modern boutique hotel right on the beach! Perfect t location between temples in Kamakura and beach vibes of Enoshima!!Wonderful rooms and accoutrements! If you like quiet, get the “back” rooms. Front facing rooms have nice views but also a bit of traffic noise because hotel is set at a busy intersection!

“King” rooms face the ocean but also the busy street!“Standard” rooms great if you need a quiet room!

Rooms were roomy, well designed and comfortable. Friendly staff spoke english well. Delicious breakfast. The soba noodles we had for lunch in the on site restaurant were excellent. Lounge areas on each floor were convenient. Close to public transportation.

Everything was great!

Lovely small hotel with gracious decor and staff; conveniently located by the local train. The room was spacious with a rain shower feature we enjoyed after a long day out exploring the area. The Japanese breakfast was lovely as well.

It's noisy, hard to rest, and expensive

It’s gorgeous and located right across the street from the beach. The staff greets you with warm tea, walks you to your room and explains everything. They had a card set out to congratulate us on our honeymoon. They provided tea, coffee, and complimentary beer. It was so beautiful we wanted to stay longer but our itinerary was packed!

Immaculate, tasteful modern design and decor, uninterrupted sea view from outside terrace, very comfortable and super bath and toilet

Room looked way bigger than in the photos and thee amount of complimentary drinks/snacks in the room and minibar

waited for desert at the restaurant for half an hour to an hour because our waitress forgot…. we really wanted to enjoy our room so we asked for them to bring it up to us

The location of the hotel, close to the beach and to Enoshima.The size of the room, the comfort of the bed, the quality of the amenities...

the Hotel is located right at a corner.the second night was no noisy outside. Not the fault of the hotel but stupid people were making strong noise with their car while waiting.Quite expensive, even during week days.

Very nice hotel but on a very busy street noisy up until 10 PM and then again around 530 to 6 AM

This is a very special place indeed. The staff are so friendly and helpful with anything you need. The rooms are luxurious and really make you feel like you are staying somewhere special. The food is Michelin quality and I highly recommend you make dinner reservations, it was some of the best food we had in Japan.

Nothing at all. It was the best hotel we stayed in on our honeymoon!

We like how the room was so warm and inviting feeling... the choice of color and how the furniture was arranged together with the partial sea view balcony was great

Design. Details. Water front location. view. patio. It is owned by famous soba restaurant so the food is really tasty so do eat dinner or lunch there.

A bit noisy from the road

Very modern and new building! Room was super comfortable! Wish we stayed longer than one night! Staff was very helpful and check-in was a breeze!

Nice view and close to many main points of interests; staff are fabulous, many hotels need to learn from them!

Slightly pricey

It was beautiful, right next to the beach, and it was such a nice way to end a vacation. The sea breeze was wonderful and the rooms were very clean and large.

I can't really think much that I didn't like. Everything was very lovely. You do have to walk a bit to get to some places to eat, but that's not the hotel's fault.
