    Cons -

    • Used to be a decent place to stay but its massively gone downhill. No staff when you need them. No info on breakfast and for some reason wasn't been served until 9am... room was in a state. No signage to put up so workers didnt walk into my room whilst I was working. My property was touched and moved without permission. Carpet was coming away from the floor. Loads of dirt everywhere. Bed was as hard as the floor. No staff to sign you out in the morning. Coded door from the limited parking didnt work properly and the mechanism was coming away from the door as you try to open it. There's so much more but I'll run out of space to complain. All in all I want my money back!
    • Very very tired Very very noisy in the middle of the night a party going onThe window in the room was nailed down could not open even a bit
    • No sea view as expected. The hair dryer was fixed to the cupboard and not reachable to a wall socket. They have own parking, but is limited and not organised properly.

Room was tidy. Enough space. Three beds for three of us surprisingly. Enough storage space for clothes and other stuffs. TV, Kettle with accessories. Walking distance to the beach. Variety of restaurants around. Nice city.

No sea view as expected. The hair dryer was fixed to the cupboard and not reachable to a wall socket. They have own parking, but is limited and not organised properly.

    Good location.

We have been visiting this hotel for years, its shabbiness has always held a charm for us however that has gone too far now. Great building in a great location but needs a full refurbishment.

Room 32...great functional single room. Was very warm over Christmas.Always good rates.Excellent location in the center of town. The staff are all excellent.

I have stayed here many times, and this was my best stay. Nothing negative that I wasn't expecting.

    5MichaelPosted on: 11-25-2025

Location and staff great. Dinner good but limited choice. No breakfast available.

Premises very tired and run down. No central heating a fan heater supplied. It's a shame it's a nice old building on need a bit of love.

Breakfast was grrreat (fish soup!), although I didn't know of the arrangements until the young man came in in the morning with the sign.

Parking was odd, and awkward with the one-way streets...but it worked out fine.

    Poor

Stayed in room 27, lovely big room lacking any heat apart from a very small plug in free standing heater providing insufficient heat for room size. Central heating radiaters not working, on 2nd floor corridor to rooms no illumination ceiling lights not working. Advised reception on late friday evening and reminded same on saturday morning.with reply they would get maintenance to investigate.Went out each morning between 8.30 and 9.00am reception in total darkness, no staff around and outer door locked but could be opened from inside. Never did have any follow up from my first report.Stayed 4 night room not serviced from arrival to departure.

    as said above was mentioned...

the noise coming from late night revellers it was if we were staying on the strip in ibiza! the screaming, shouting, swearing up until around 3 o'clock in the morning was terrible

    6DavidPosted on: 10-21-2025

Great location.A very good quiet bar.Room was tired but very clean and a great shower.Barman Luke personable and a good representative for the hotel.

Needs redecoration but having regard to the cost of a night in an en suite double ..£60…in a great location still value for money.

    5SarahPosted on: 10-19-2025

The staff were amazing...very helpful... especially the lovely young girl.on reception and the male bar staff in the black sheep

Hotel needs so much tlc...it's a beautiful building in a fab location..but so tired and in need of a revamp .. mattresses were not in the best condition really need mattress a d pillow protectors ... mould on bathroom ceiling and tiles... wallpaper peeling off with damp patches..wall lights in need of changing...only one plug in room to charge phone etc...no mirror by the vanity unit and hairdryer ...we were only staying one night.. the beds were soo comfortable tho! Also but disappointing that when we got back the bar was shut ...the best part about our stay was the staff.. well done!

The price was excellent, the place was pretty clean had really old rustic feel to it. Double room was great size, good facilities in the room.

Difficulty finding room 31, and the treck to get to the room, the street can be heard quite clearly. Place was clean but smelt really really old.

    8RonPosted on: 10-14-2025

Didn't have breakfast at the hotel. The location in Union Street was excellent.

Some of the decor was a little tired. We weren't advised when we chevked in about the external door code for entry out of normal hours.

    Very local to all amenities

I was in the annex opposite which was very tired. Needs a full refurbishment.
