Pros +

• Attempt at looking modern, empty hotel all to my self. Bathroom in the room and outside, so two people can use at the same time. Free hot public bath few minutes by walk, Very nice experience.
• quality of the renovation was high, interior decor was great.
• The concept of the hotel that merges itself into the community. The hotel itself does not provide everything as one-stop service as another, you have to wander around the town to find the things you are looking for (sometime over your expectation). I was so enjoyed staying there and also the time to talk with the locals (but you may need to have some Japanese communication skill, or even you cannot, I am certainly sure that they will somehow communicate with you with their best). You must try Sento, the public available for free to their guest staying there.

Cons -

• all was mostly good, but they use charred wood on the walls which stained my backpacks and luggage as I was taking my luggage in the room, this is a no-no. Shower did not have hot water. Kinda cold walls. I slept with a sleeping hat on. Good that I had i
• corridors are exposed to winter temperatures
• The concept of this hotel is quite difficult to be available for all kind of guest. Some facilities was not available (like a knife for guest to cook, but might be reasonable due to security matter). Anyway, do not hesitate to tell them anything you found there, the staff they are so open-minded and try to service you as best as they can. I am certainly sure that this hotel is going to be the destination not to be missed for all wanderer around the world.
