    Pros +

    • Location and the room.
    • The shower was ok
    • Location. Right outside the station and next to an awesome sento. I really love that the breakfast area can be used as a gathering area/lounge with LOTS of space to hang out in the evenings, which is something almost all business hotels I've been to are lacking. They also have a rain shower from the ceiling of the unit baths in addition to the hand held shower heads - nice extra touch!

    Cons -

    • Breakfast was meager, no onsen in facility.
    • Useless and rude front desk staff. Empty parking was not available, had to walk elsewhere. Porn on tv as the home channel. Busy disgusting breakfast. Hard bed with the worst pillows I ever seen.
    • This is personal preference, but beds are pretty stiff. I still got a solid night sleep though.

Right next to Joetsu-myoko Station. We rented a car from Toyota on the other side to get to our snowmobile tour, glad we did that.

Excellent location right next to the Shinkansen station, good restaurants, and onsen. Coffee available all day.

Bread was advertised as part of breakfast, however it ran out 1 hour into the breakfast service (less than half way through) every day we stayed. We queried this and were simply told “it’s a buffet, and it has run out” with no apology. I think if something is advertised, it is not acceptable to just allow it to run out so quickly every day - more than half the guests could not have bread as advertised.

We like this chain of hotels. Always a good location reliable quality, service and value. They are very professional and helpful. Also very foreigner friendly, many services in Japan are difficult to deal with as a foreigner, but not this company.

We booked a non smoking room, but our room had a distinct smoke smell coming from the air conditioner, it didn’t affect our visit though as we didn’t need air conditioning. We brought this to managements attention and they were very apologetic and promised to take care of it.

At first the staff asked us to keep our bicycle outside at the train station. However after some discussion we were allowed to move our bicycle inside the entry way.

    8MitchelPosted on: 9-4-2025

Right next to the train station. Plenty of breakfast options. Room was very comfortable.

We are riding a tandem bicycle. They told us to park in the unsupervised public train bicycle parking. We found a manager that allowed us to leave bike in entrance.

We stayed here for one night visiting cherry blossom festival near Takada Castle. The hotel is 2 min by foot from the railway station, which is convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful, rooms clean and breakfast tasty. We got a room with a beautiful view to the mountains. There is a public onsen just at the corner, so you can relax there in the evening after a long walk as we did.

Right next to train station and great restaurant basically next door.

Personal preference - bed was very hard.

Very conveninet for both train arrival and with a car, japanese style breakfast is healthy and hearthy, many options including fresh croissant.

I wasn`t lucky to get a room with a mountain view but I didn`t ask at the reception so maybe I could :)

Very convenient location for Ikon Pass holders skiing at Lotte Arai. Just metres from the railway station and the shuttle to Lotte Arai.

Great handy spot at the train to visit around west coast of japan and the interior, Japan really is one big massive train set on steroids, so not utilising the trains is probably limiting your experience of japan a little bit.

My bad back didnt like the bed, it felt like sleeping on cardboard boxes. Which i thought was a bit weird in the year 2025, it also curved it a way that put pressure on my kneecaps and gave me nausea, so i had to put a towel under the mattress to correct the dip.

We stayed here to go to lotte arai to snowboard/ski. We appreciated the proximity to train station, its literally across the street. We were also happy that they accepted yamato delivery of our skis. Theres a few izakayas around but food is not nearly as abundant and good as tokyo. The front desk were friendly and willing to help, but not great english, they do use a hand held translator to help. They do breakfast in the morning (warning, its a japanese breakfast - seaweed, soups, salmon, savories) but they do have a coffee machine downstairs which we were thankful for. There is a free shuttle to lotte arai (that you need to book in advance ****). Overall great value for our stay, would stay here again if on budget.

Food around this area is limitedRoom small (but functional), hard bed and pillowsNot great english from front desk staff

The location of the hotel can’t be beat! Great location next to the train station, easy shuttle to Arai to snowboard, and good restaurant options close by. The staff were very kind and breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend!

The beds were very hard and not the most comfortable.

    10TarekPosted on: 2-19-2025

Conveniently located right by the train station, great breakfast, rooms had all necessities, a few restaurants nearby

Only provided one pillow for single room but able to ask for another one

Breakfast ok, same stanky fish every day.No eggs or cereal.Did have chocolate eclairs one day out of ten, woohoo. Lol! Location was great, right next to trains.

Only one good ski area close by, but they offered free shuttle to Lotte Arai. Nothing to do at night and no shopping nearby.

    8JimPosted on: 2-12-2025

Location, next to the train station and the shuttle to Lotte Arai ski resort.

    Bed was way too firm.

    Handy to the train station

Didnt really like the language barrier to english but the challenge is fun.. and part of the journey in a foreign land.. the people are so kind and well mannered and make light of every situation..

Pillows are great! So close to Joetsumyoko train station and lots of restaurants around. Excellent value. Rooms are the normal very small Japanese rooms, but are very comfy and have everything you need.
