Shonai Hotel Suiden Terrasse

Shonai hotel suiden terrasse is a wonderful accommodation. Modern, comfortable, cool, with interesting location on an agricultural field. The onsen was wonderful, the other facilities such as the library and reading room were fantastic, and the dedicated sake spaces were worth visiting.

The breakfast buffet was excellent.

Seating in the interior dining room was too limited. At dinner time, with the door to the patio open it was verry chilly.

An exceptional hotel located in Tsuruoka. Nice room, friendly staff and quite good restaurant.the rice field next to hotel make a unique location and peaceful feeling.

Staff spoke barely English, didn’t explain that much. Also they didn’t explain that the check out time is already at 10am and charged for overstaying 4,400¥

Whole hotel's environment was fantastic both inside and outside, room was super clean but inside was super humid even though ac was on, it makes so uncomfortable when sleeping

Absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are spacious and comfortable, there's a sake lounge and bar, great onsen. Would happily stay here again!

I loved the simple architecture of the hotel. It was fitting in smoothly into the landscape. The room was spacious and it was very comfortable to spend time there. The breakfast was very delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Was unable to use the onsen due to large tattoos.

It’s so clean, the book selection was superb, I will surely return again!!! The view was lovely and the food was superb too, and for that price, the town was very good, quiet but everybody we met were genuine, great lovely people

The place is overall amazingly and uniquely designed. The rooms are large and of excellent quality, which is fun to be in, but:1. The sauna and baths are a bit too small2. Restaurant: It seems like an attempt to squeeze money out of the guests. I have no other wordBottom line - great place. Delicious and varied breakfast. Excellent staff. Just save dinner there

The cost for dinner is very high and it feels like you are getting the minimum possible so that the price justifies itself. There is a free buffet during the meal with bread and 4 side dishes - very generic and just everything from a can.. Raw materials are cheap compared to the high priceThe dishes look very simple and I believe this is to justify the Nordic design

I don't know why this isn't a 5 star hotel. They had better service, facilities, rooms, food, everything - much better than any of the 5-star hotels I've ever stayed at.Everything was amazing.They had open air onsen, gym area (mostly cardio and 1 pull, 1 push machine), sake bar and lounge, library to hang out. So many things, I really wish I stayed a bit longer!

The onsen and spa from a natural warm spring are outstanding, bathing under the stars or watching the sunrise - feeling the fresh air while sitting in lovely warm water was amazing. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, the staff are super helpful. Perfect retreat and 20 min from the airport in Shonai. Idyllic.

This hotel is perfect, I can find nothing I didn't like.

I got an in-room “chiropractic” massage and it was done on the bed without a head/neck support, so I had to keep picking up my head and readjusting during the massage which definitely interrupted the flow
