    Pros +

    • We had a much much better experience than we expected. The place is serene, peaceful and calm. The cabin seems to be newly built and everything was nice and shiny. Beds were comfy and clean and the location is one the main road close to gas, grocery and dining.
    • The location was great! The cottage itself was beautiful and had everything needed to make our stay comfortable. I had trouble opening the sofa bed and the host was kind enough to drive to the cottage at 11pm to help me open the sofa bed.
    • Great mid Cape Breton island location that allowed us to fairly easily drive to many Celtic Colours venues.

    Cons -

    • No air conditioning in the rooms, only in the main area. The bathroom door does not have a lock but the bedroom doors do.
    • I didn't like that the cottage had a simple small lock. Coming from a city, that felt slightly unsafe. I would prefer an additional chain lock like most hotels do. I think it would also be a good idea to add a small mirror to the bed room so guests can get ready there. Also, wifi wasnt the best but I understand that this is in the middle of a forest.
    • Main complaint is that there is no ceiling over the bedrooms, so that there was no privacy between the two couples.

    Clean and cozy

No basic cooking needs, even no salt and sugar, just a little bit will help, the grocery store is far away and closes very early which is very inconvenient for a short stay and very basic simple cooking

Clean, roomy, great kitchen. Lovely front deck

    7ShelbyPosted on: 9-30-2025

Nice to have our own cabin, it was clean and had all of the necessary amenities.

A bit expensive for what it was, bed was smallish.

    8BeckyPosted on: 7-12-2025

Convenient to Baddeck amenities, cottage was clean and had all kitchen tools needed.

The pool is so clean, cabin was also so clean. Pull out couch is the only thing that’s not comfortable.

Pull out couch is not comfortable, big pile of wood on the grass kind of an eye sore.

Very clean and bed was comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Pool was a surprise, everything well maintained and clean.

Very tidy, great stuff and clean. Good central location.

Close to the entrance of the Cabot trail and not noisy even if it’s close to the road. Staff was nice and the cottage was clean. We only stayed one night so we didn’t use the amenities but it looked nice.

The couch was not comfortable at all and the bed was very soft but that’s a preference issue.

It was well maintained and staff was super friendly! It is super affordable and bang for the buck. Baddeck is a lively village so location wise it was great! Definitely will come here again

It is in the beginning of cabot trail so if u stay there for multiple days the travel time would double!

Very nice outdoor pool, separate cabins, very quiet and private.

    9DebraPosted on: 9-4-2024

The facility was clean and well looked after. Everything that we needed was in the cottage. The laundry area was great. The staff were professional, pleasant, and willing to help with any questions.

We travelled with 2 nine year old twins. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything for them to do outside other than swim! It would have been great to have a playground or other outside activity.

Staff was fantastic! Very friendly and understanding! Really beautiful spot! Cottages are great!! Loved this experience! Will definitely be staying here again!

Pool is only open until 7. Understand why but was hoping it was open later.

    8TomPosted on: 8-12-2024

    Pool, staff, lots of supplies,

Walls in the cabin didn’t go to the ceiling, quiet time wasn’t enforced.

    7RobynPosted on: 7-26-2024

Great cottage with all the amenities! We just stayed one night but had time to swim in the pool, have a fire, and enjoy our own little cabin. Had a desk, full kitchen, etc.

Sound travels since the walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling but barely noticed. Have to toss your own garbage (bins are on site).

    7ScottPosted on: 7-22-2024

The location is great close to shopping and restaaurants. The cabins are clean with mini kitchen and we loved having a BBQ to cook on. The bathroom was re finished very nice. The pool was across the street and kept clean and was heated. We stayed for 2 nights.

You should have hair dryers. I didnt bring mine because every hotel, cabin or cottage we have rented in the past 15 years have them.
