Dunlop Inn

The lady who takes care of the hotel is very friendly and we really like her. There is an outside patio that faces the water. It is very relaxing to just sit there and watch the birds. They offer free breakfast, free internet and free parking.

Room and bathroom are on the small side. The bed is small too.

The room is clean and the guests are friendly and quiet.

The breakfast has very limited selections. Most of the choices are breads, muffins etc, and it was lack of fresh fruits, vegetables and proteins. The towels are clean, but it showed an "old" smell right after use.

Breakfast was simple but lovely. Great location. loved the outdoor space to sit at waters edge with a glass of wine

Location was great, walking to many events, shops, eateries! Beds were comfy and the Continental breakfast was more than sufficient.

Room we had was tiny and you could barely turn around in the bathroom. We are not large humans, so I can’t imagine a larger person maneuvering themselves in the bathroom.

Room was nice. Room 2 (lighthouse) That being said it was designed with “pretty” as the goal and not “functionality”. No table of any kind. Beautiful bathroom but only a poorly sliding 300 lb. Door to it. The entrance door sealed terribly allowing hallway light and noice to get in and out. The hinges were so loud I woke up most of the guests going out at 6:30 in the morning. I’m an early riser.

The inn is directly on the water in Baddeck. Kayaks available for your use. You are at the edge of town so you can walk everywhere. The continental breakfast was very, very good - fruit, yogurt, cereals, oatmeal, muffins, toast, croissants, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, juices and coffee. The lady who is there in the morning is a delight! So very helpful - wish I could remember her name!

No innkeeper on site - I always wondered who locked up at night?? And they allow children - we had a baby next to us one night. Minor things but just a heads up.

View was outstanding! Comfort was exceptional. Facilities were lovely. Breakfast facilities were wonderful and offerings plentiful.Room was darling. View amazing. We were thrilled with the place.

The inn is very close to the Alexander Graham Bell park.

I don’t like to smell the sheets, it’s unfortunate that the laundry detergent used is so strong.

The Inn overlooks the harbour and it so peaceful to sit outside and enjoy the views. The location is great with nearby restaurants, cafes and a bit of shopping. The staff were very kind and helpful. We only stayed for 2 nights in August, but could easily have stayed longer to enjoy the quiet ease of Baddeck. The bed was comfortable and bathroom, although separate from the bedroom, was well-appointed.

We would have preferred to have the bathroom en suite (especially when getting up in the middle of the night to use the toilet), but it was still private, with our own lock key so we could leave our stuff in there. Think of it like your own home that you need to leave your bedroom to go to the bathroom. Not a big deal.

Harbour side - chairs to enjoy view, walking distance to town, onsite parking, friendly host, breakfast options great, near A G Bell museum, ate at Cable restaurant and delicious food.

Put in room with separate bathroom initially. We were not aware of that from reservation. Paid additional for connected batrhroom.

Beautiful view of the harbor and lighthouse. Walkable to many good restaurants and the Bell museum. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great proximity to the Cabot Trail!

Great location; very very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Had everything we needed. Very much enjoyed our stay! The living room and the outdoor area in the water was more than perfect!

There’s nothing I didn’t love!

This Inn has a location second to none; close to excellent restaurants and backs onto the water. Was able to take out one of their kayaks for a peaceful morning spin then returned for a lovely continental breakfast on the back deck overlooking the water. Would highly recommend this place.

Very nice rooms, good continental breakfast buffet- eggs, cheese, bagels, muffins, scones, yogurt, granola,coffee, tea. Nice location with views of Bra D’Or, harbor, etc. Friendly staff!

It was a nice house overlooking the water. The room was nice and the breakfast was good.

I would have liked for there to be some sort of reception at the property.
