    Pros +

    • The staff were extremely friendly,. helpful and loved our location
    • Beautiful location, fantastic hosts, beautiful room. If we'd been on a romantic break rather than stopping midway it would have been the perfect spot. Free parking. Wonderful breakfast. Tranquil area and a quiet, private room with a lovely comfortable bed and no TV (which I love). Honestly We'd like to come back in summer and spend more time.
    • The Auberge was a lovely stay from beginning to end. We were warmly greeted by our hosts who made us feel at home right away. The house is located on a quiet street a few minutes drive from La Malbaie with charming gardens, verandah, outdoor hot tub, and comfortable rooms. After a long day in the car it was wonderful to relax with a glass of delightful local rosé and be able to have a gourmet crêpe dinner on site! The breakfast crêpes were divine! The level of service was exceptional as both Gerald and Angelique made every effort to engage with all guests at each meal. They made suggestions re local sights and attractions and we enjoyed touring Ile aux Coudres and the Jardins de Cap à l’Aigle at their recommendation. The musical theme of the Auberge runs throughout and it would be so fun to stay here when they host a musical event. Next time!

    Cons -

    • no television
    • It's a bit off the beaten track, which is a double-edged sword. Peaceful but you have to drive to get dinner (for example). Other than that I can't think of anything I could possibly complain about. It was lovely.
    • It was all perfect.

We stayed 1 night at "l'hotel musical pour un instant" . We didn't know what to expect as it was a last minute booking but were very pleased. Gerald and Angelique welcome you extremely well and make you feel welcome and at home from the moment you arrive. This boutique hotel is super cute, the room was very comfortable and super clean. And their breakfast with home made crepe excellent !

Gerald and Angelique are the most generous and gregarious hosts. The property is stunning. The dinner and breastfast were delightful. I slept so well in a lovely room. I had coffee on the porch with the sounds of birds and threads of french laughter coming from the kitchen. The smell of phlox wafted through the air. It was heaven on earth.

    Quiet, well kept, comfortable

Such a warm welcome from Angelique. Delightful atmosphere - very relaxing with outdoor spa and seating in the garden.

Crepes for dinner in bistro were excellent. Gerard was a great host and most helpful.

Responsive owner and their impeccable service, clean room, delicious breakfast, nice location on the uphill near Malbaie, beautiful garden with outdoor sitting places, and access to jacuzzi.

Squeaky doors and woods are due to old structure, but it can also be a charming point of this place.

This classic French Canadian style bed and breakfast is a charming little gem tucked away in the beautiful countryside of Charlevoix and is about a 10 minute drive from La Malbaie. The hosts were delightful, very accessible and most accommodating. The auberge is cozy, clean and comfortable with a very homey and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was small but very clean and cutely decorated with a woodland feel. The bed was very comfortable. In the small reception area there is a little boutique offering local products including soap and candles. On arrival you are asked to choose among the soaps to use during your stay and can also be purchased for use at home. There is also a small gym and a hot tub for guest's use. But the "piece de resistance" was the unexpected bonus that their kitchen is a creperie and not only includes breakfast crepes for its guests but also offers an evening menu! Also, if you are lucky enough to be there on the weekend (sadly, we were not) there is live music on selected Saturdays. One of the hosts happens to also be the very skilled crepe chef and a member of the band! The curious name of the auberge becomes easily understood once you realize the hosts' love of music, especially of a particular local Quebecois group. Feeling tired after a day of travel to arrive at the auberge, we decided not to venture out as we had originally planned. Instead, we stayed to enjoy what ended up being a simply fabulous dinner on our first evening. The duck confit crepe with emmenthal, apples and walnuts and an assortment of thoughtfully arranged fresh and colourful local garnishes and sides was delectable and our wine selection was also excellent. The breakfast crepes were also absolutely delicious! The savoury or sweet choices were made to perfection as well as generously embellished with a variety of fresh fruits and of course a side of maple syrup!

Our only minor complaint was that you could hear our neighbours next door. They got a bit loud in the later evening when we were settling in for the night. The hosts do their best to keep things quiet since the auberge is not sound proof, which is to be expected for such a vintage structure, but we would not expect guests to be so noisy. Thankfully, it was short-lived.

Everything was terrific from the choice of soap to the ambience to the crepes at the Bistro (morning and evening). Highly recommended!

Lovely and charming country setting with gardens - our room was large, comfortable with a sitting area out front. Loved the hot tub and the crepes for breakfast - town is 10 min - exercise room , yoga mats, hot water maker, refrigerator and French coffee press -

It would be nice for there to be robes for the hot tub or at least extra towels ! We were given extra towels when we asked -

We had an amazing time in this Bed and Breakfast! Angélique and Gérald were excellent hosts and were so lovely during our stay! The room was perfect and the property was equipped with a lot more than we had expected: the little gym and whirlpool made the stay even better and spending the evenings in the living room where Angélique made a fire and let us use her guitars for the entire night, it was all just a magical experience! We would definitely come back again!

Wonderful, very private room. Delightful host. Wonderful spa. Delicious homemade breakfast. Lovely property. Convenient to town and country. What more could you ask for?

    Really can't think of anything!

Great personal attention from Angelique. Made us a wonderful breakfast early because of our early departure. Charming place.

Not a lot of space in the room to put things down.

Perfect location, pretty room, pretty house, cosy, calm, clean. Hosts are very welcoming and very good breakfast.
