Set on the shores of the Bacalar Lagoon and 1969 feet from the Chetumal-Cancún Motorway, the Ecocamping Yaxche features camping facilities, nature contact and free parking. The tents have access to a shared bathroom and showers, while the rooms also offer mosquito net and rustic décor. The property serves beverage and local food with a surcharge, and guests can find a variety of restaurants at Bacalar Town Center 10 minutes’ drive away. Ecocamping Yaxche features as well a dock and several palapa thatched roof lounges available. Activities such as kayaking and use of the volleyball court can be arranged. Chetumal Main Square is 25 minutes’ drive away and the Cenote Azul is 6.2 mi away. This property is 40 minutes’ drive from Chetumal International Airport.

This will be collected as a cash payment. You should be reimbursed on check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full in cash, subject to an inspection of the property. - Being on the lake
- The location next to the Lake and the nature has to be the best feature. Unfortunately, the day we stayed, it was raining, and the glorious colors of the lake were not great.
Cons -
- Would have been nice to have a kitchen and/or access to a refridgerator and dishes
- This was my experience during my stay. While it doesn't mean the same thing will happen to others, our assigned room did not meet standards. It was full of humidity and had mold on the walls. The bed sheets could have been cleaner and had several questionable spots on them. The morning staff was great; however, we encountered an issue with the night staff regarding a malfunctioning A/C. We informed him of the problem, but he was not very helpful and even questioned whether there was really an issue. Ultimately, we had to wait outside the room until he switched us to a different one. Unfortunately, this situation ruined our stay.
