Pros +
- It was a good location for watching the hippos walk up from the estuary. Management was great. Breakfast was good. They serve drinks at the pool.
- The hotel was mindful of my request for a quiet room. Breakfast was good. Location excellent.
- The location was ideal, it was close to the tourist spots and breakfast was great. Gugu at the front desk was extremely helpful.
Cons -
- Cleaners would clean at 6am in the morning and make a lot of noise in the hallway, waking up the whole family. There are large gaps under the door so when groups would come in at midnight the noise was blatant. It was really hard to sleep well. The AC is probably 20 years old.
- They accommodated us for dinner, but this could do with some improvement. A salad starter should be full of fresh peppers, greens and possibly olives and feta. The room smelled musty, and there were marks on cupboards and headboard. The linen looked tired. The shower sprays too wide for pressure, and poured out the cubicle door. 1 small soap for 2 people to shower and wash hands is not enough.
- Kindly note I am highly disappointed at the service I have received from The elephant Lake Hotel in St Lucia. I made the booking through booking.com early last week. I contacted the property on the 9th morning after I was checking directions to advise them I had made an error with the dates (See attached screenshot of the proof of phone call) the lady I spoke with advised that I could come anyway and that it was fine. When I arrived at the property, bear in mind it’s a 3.5 hour drive from where I live and the hotel staff were extremely disrespectful and told me they unsure who I spoke with earlier that day. They said if I didn’t arrive the date booked then that must be forfeited. They also mentioned whoever I spoke with may have been a trainee as there was 3 ladies working that day. What flabbergasts me is that I even showed the staff my call to the property on my phone as well as called again so they could see its their number that rings- they all just looked at me. I made it very clear that when I called earlier that day if the lady had just told me nothing could be done I wouldn’t of driven all that way. I was given the number of the general manager and he said he would try find out which one of his staff it was that I spoke to and expected me to pay for another night because it was already late afternoon sun was going down and a far drive back. He unfortunately wasn’t very helpful either and also said if I don’t know the name of the person I spoke with that doesn’t help him. I was so incredibly upset that I drove somewhere else for the night. It was confirmed I did not check in on the date I originally booked, the hotel wasn’t full either. I expect my money back or at least some sort of refund for this.

The room was always very clean, towels always dry and nicely placed on the bed.Staff was always very friendly and ready to help us.We wanted to do a day tour and they called around multiple companies till they found someone willing to bring us out given the low season and low demand. Definitely went the extra mile.Breakfast was good.Location is also very nice close to many restaurants. The highlight of the stay was the hippos in the garden of the hotel. We managed to see them 2 times while they were walking around in the garden and/or in the village over a 4 days stay!
Everything was good.
The property is quite relaxing and close to everything
The WiFi did not work, hardly connecting in rooms, no way to communicate with reception unless you go down to reception. tv out dated and air con it working fan was working
The pool area is beautiful. It's in a location within walking distance of restaurants.
The bed was uncomfortable. I could feel that two beds were merged in one. With the one being old in that the springs were screeching the entire time.
Great location. Good size, very clean rooms. Cheerful, helpful staff. Have already recommended.
The rooms and the treatment received from the staff.
That your TV does not have popular channels in the rooms and was very disturbing having to go to a bar to watch soccer yet we do not drink.
Location was great. Wifi poor, breakfast can be better.
Clean pool
Staff attitude says* we are underpaid and overworked. We hate what we are doing. Manager’s temper very very unprofessional towards a customer that paid for food that disappeared and had their stay time violated by staff*** disgusting behaviour.
New looking of it and very neat
Pool was closed and it was hot day
Very easy to book. Advertised details were accurate.
Swimming pool unavailable. Breakfast average.
The room
Cheap coffee in room, no milkPool closed, was not informedBreakfast was not buffet and the only option for sausage was chicken.
The location and the view, room was very clean, breakfast was delicious.
Receptionist seems as if his very slow he didn't know that swipping machine was too slow.
Breakfast was fine but the scones were not fresh.
The drinking glasses are too small. No microwave available in the rooms.
Rooms and bathrooms for clean and neat.Rooms are airconditioned. Bar fridge and kettle in the rooms.Breakfast was exceptional.
Location
Ceilings are dirty, room smells of mold, bathrooms are tiny
What a well situated Hotel - one of the best.So tranquil and in the most beautiful part of the town.Management and staff is so friendly, helpful and see to all your needsWalking distance from the shops and restaurants. The sight of the Hippo with her baba - was absolutely a bonus
The rooms were very clean and comfortable.Love the detail in art and interior. The pool was amazing except the creepy crawly did restrict movement in the pool.We got to view a hippo which was unforgettable.
The breakfast buffer was limiting and didn't have much options but was very tasty none the less.
