    Pros +

    • The staff were helpful and friendly
    • The hotel is located in a beautiful area with stunning sea views from the top of the cliffs, well laid out hotel and nice large outdoor entertainment area for the evenings.. great 4g football pitch for the kids
    • We enjoyed our stay at Alua Roca Suites. It is a little remote and a taxi/car ride away from the main part of Cala D'Or. There is a tourist/restaurant area about 7min walk away but we never ate there as we had half board. The buffet dinner at Alua Roca was great with a different theme and types of food each night. We wouldn't usually go for half board as prefer to eat in a different restaurants each night but we really enjoyed the buffet experience and instead had a small lunch out at a beach bar each day. There is a small beach (Calo Des Pau) about 5mins walk away also that has rocks you can jump off so kids enjoyed it there. The main port of Cala D'or is busy but really nice to explore with other nice beaches/coves to goto. The resort has a nice pools and a pool bar but the pool area is REALLY busy. If you are not an early riser you can forget about getting a sun lounger. This was my biggest gripe about staying here.... this was on paper one of the "fancier" places we stayed at in Malloraca but it didn't fully deliver on that. Fortunately we had a ground-floor apartment near to the pool area with a sea view and we could both watch the boats going by on the sea and be near the pool from our terrace. But there are no sun loungers on the terraces so you are just sitting in a chair.

    Cons -

    • The hotel rooms are gross and have a musty smell. The water is gross and is salt water, so when you shower after the beach it’s more salt water & it makes brushing your teeth disgusting. We had to use a bottle of water instead to brush our teeth. The showers are terrible and it gets wet everywhere. You feel so slimy and gross the whole time there, the rooms are old and not properly cleaned. We were originally in block A and it was so dark and smelled like mold. Our AC unit didn’t work and leaked everywhere - reason why it smelled musty & moldy.
    • Some communal areas around the apartments are a little dated and could do with a freshen up, but not a huge problem
    • Pool area is really busy and not enough sun loungers. While there are signs up saying that people can't reserve the loungers that is what people do. They get their towel on their early in the morning and leave it there all day. Most of the loungers are vacant for hours but with towels on them and nobody removes towels from vacant sun-loungers. It is annoying to pay a premium to stay in a nice resort like this and not be able to enjoy the pool area properly. They should put sun loungers on the terraces to compensate slightly for this or to make it also appealing to sunbath on your terrace and remove some of the pressure on the pool area... but they don't. It is just chairs on the terraces.Because of this I don't think I would return here. When you pay a premium, you expect to be able to enjoy the facilities properly.

location was good, views were incredible and there was a lot of space, it was relatively quiet at night too. the balcony was great - the best of an avg stay-appt. parking was easy and free too.

lack of furniture and kitchen appliances.

Beautiful resort. Great facilities. Loved our comfy beds and sea view apartment. Realised they had all inclusive packages too when we got there. Receptionists spoke very good English and was very polite. Loved our 3 nights stay in cala d'or

Noise at night due to shows and performances. Request room further away from main stage if you can. They have buffet food however the oil they use is smelly and causes indigestion so eat out if you can. Lots of shops and restaurants near by. And oh! Tap water tasted like so salty and smelt so bad no one told us if it was drinkable or not. Partner got sick with gastro after drinking literally a sip and brushing his teeth with it. Get bottled water to avoid this

Great location, peaceful area about 10 minutes walk from the nearest beach - stunning but small, and 10 minutes from a handful of restaurants and bars. About 20 minutes walk from the Marina, which is lovely

Our sea view room had two balconies, which was great, but both were solid walls so you could only see the sea when standing up. Would have been lovely to sit with a coffee or glass of wine and look at the stunning view, but it wasn’t possible. Also, breakfast was reasonable but extremely busy. Coffee machines were often out of order and buffet trays often very slow to be replenished.

    3Ribaana-chätleenPosted on: 9-24-2024

The only plus point about the hotel was the view from the pool to the sea.

The price-quality ratio is not in place. For us, this hotel was not worth the price. We paid €1300 for the week. The air in the hotel room was humid, which left a musty smell on the clothes. The cleaners did not rinse the floors after washing with the detergent, so the floors became sticky. In addition, the cleaner sprayed the room with an aerosol that smelled like strong chemicals. Water dripped from the vent. If you are looking for cleanliness and quality, then this hotel is not for you.

    Sea view

Lack of cleanliness and services. Poorly organized and maintained.

    9JanicePosted on: 9-20-2024

Food was good large selection of good quality & variety

We ate at the 2nd sitting and sometimes had to wait quite a while for food to be replenished. Also food not that hot.

    9AnitaPosted on: 9-19-2024

Superb location, spectacular view to the see, spacious apartement, comfy beds, nice and renewed bathrooms. Pool is great, big and deep enough. The relax pool ( only for adults) is a great idea!

Kitchenette is sparsely equipped, not suitable for self catering. If the hotel offers accomodation with self-catering possibility and mini-kitchen, it should be more equipped. Gym could also be more equipped.

The staff are very friendly and very helpful. I have reported something is not right in the room and they send someone to fix it immediately. Also, they are very sweet to send me a bottle of sparkling wine for my birthday surprise. So nice of them. They have 2 pools both of them facing the oven is stunning. Location is good as well less then 10mins drive you can be in Cala dor centre.

The room has a bit of humidity and has a strong wastewater smell.

    2AshleyPosted on: 9-9-2024

    View was pretty

Everything. The room was depressing and empty. It was supposed to be a two bedroom suite and it only had one love seat sofa and no other furniture. The bathroom sinks would not drain. There was blood stains on the towels. The shower door was completely broken. It was very depressing and did not match the photos at all

    7SarahPosted on: 9-4-2024

The pool area, the relaxed atmosphere, pool games for the kids, the seafront suite, sea views, 10 mins walk to harbour, 5 mins walk to beach, 25 mins Cala d or

The buffet restaurant was a large room with some outside space and looked nice but the food was average , at times disappointing.

    8FeliciaPosted on: 9-4-2024

Nice location and stunning view. Sweet staff that helped us celebrate our birthdays with a fantastic view from the balcony.

The cleaning left a bit to be desired. Spots on towels and walls unfortunately.

    10NinaPosted on: 9-2-2024

Staff were delightful, bar was well managed. Entertainment was ok and not too pushy.

We were not told about the 3rd pool!

    6LucaPosted on: 8-29-2024

The housekeeping team maintained the accommodations impeccably, ensuring a clean environment. Additionally, the hotel staff cultivated a warm and welcoming atmosphere with their gracious demeanor, enhancing our overall experience.

Our stay at the hotel was unfortunately tarnished by several issues. The room's air conditioning system released an unpleasant odor, which negatively impacted the air quality and our comfort. The hotel's design, with its enclosed inner courtyard surrounded by guest rooms, unintentionally magnified the sound of closing doors, creating a constant disturbance. Adding to this, the poor soundproofing of the room doors allowed outside noises to easily enter our space, further disrupting the peace we had hoped for. Lastly, we were disappointed to discover that the glassware in the dining area had visible residue, likely from mineral-rich water. This lapse in cleanliness was particularly concerning in an area where food is served.

This is an excellent 4 star hotel, located over looking the Mediterranean Sea. It has everything you want, big and comfortable apartments, friendly and helpful staff, great food options. It is a smaller hotel which for me is even better, with beautiful open courtyards and stunning flora. The hotel was near a local beach or travel by bus to Cala Mondragó or Cala D’or for more choice. One very big plus was we could go out to the local beaches for the morning and still be back in time for a late lunch (finished at 3pm). For the price I couldnt fault it all and can’t wait to go back next year

The weather wasn’t great , it rained for 5 days out of 7 in August! But the entertainment team didn’t give up hope
