About
Beautifully set in a quiet cove, this pretty hotel has glorious views over the sea or gardens from the bedroom’s balconies. Enjoy dining in the elegant restaurant and relaxing by the pool. Once the military headquarters during the Spanish Civil war, the Hotel Cala Dor has an interesting history dating back to 1932 when it was a home for the soldiers serving at the old Arab fort. Spend your days soaking the glorious sunshine by the pool and cooling off with a swim or with a siesta. Take the few footsteps down to bright blue Mediterranean waters and fine white sands. Later, you can wind down with a workout in the gym before a visit to the exterior jacuzzi next to the pool. Enjoy breakfast in the Hotel Cala Petita restaurant which has panoramic views over the cove and sea. You can also find snacks and refreshments in the poolside cafe and another down by the beach. In the evening, head to the bar for a delicious cocktail and meet other guests of the hotel.

Pros +
- The view! That we basically had a private beach.
- Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel, which is steps away from the stunning Cala Petita. Breakfast was delicious (eggs made to order, several sides, fresh fruit and yogurt, variety of pastries, etc). The pool area was very relaxing (lots of day beds and loungers). In addition, I was able to attend Pilates and Yoga each morning. Hotel parking lot is very convenient if street parking is not available.
- Close to all the restaurants, beach restaurant and bar by the heated pool.Hotel staff was professional, friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a very quiet location at night.Love the fact that it was adults only.
Cons -
- Bed could have been more comfortable. However, our room was very spacious and sparkling clean.
- The alcove is not exclusive to the hotel. It is open to the public as well. Also, they were closing for the season so a lot of items were taken off the menu for dinner at the beach restaurant.
- I recently stayed at this hotel, which was advertised as a four-star property, and unfortunately, it fell short in a number of ways. From the moment we arrived, the reception had an awful smell which lingered the entire time we were there. The room’s amenities felt very basic and not up to four-star standards. The towels were not only worn out but crusty and greyish, which isn’t what you expect at all. Instead of a proper coffee machine, there was just a simple kettle and instant coffee, which felt more like a budget hotel than a four-star one.Other details added to the disappointment. The beds felt like camp beds with flat pillows, and there were no dressing gowns. The hairdryer seemed ancient, and there wasn’t even a proper dressing table to do makeup or get ready comfortably. On top of that, the room itself was noisy — you could hear people coming and going in the corridors, and there was little soundproofing. The sea view balcony was restricted and also lacked any real privacy, so it didn’t feel like a space you could relax in.The pool area was equally outdated. The pool towels supplied were equally sub par and could only be changed on certain days of the week which meant reusing a sweaty dirty towel on consecutive days. The loungers were thin and uncomfortable, and the hotel allowed guests to reserve sunbeds with towels, which is something you really wouldn’t expect at a four-star place. On top of that, when we checked out at noon, there was no freshen-up room available for late departures, which meant we had to go and book a beach club just so we could have somewhere to shower before heading to the airport. This lack of basic consideration for guests made the experience even more frustrating. In summary, this hotel really didn’t live up to the four-star rating it advertises. The amenities and service were closer to budget level, and the overall experience was underwhelming.

Really gorgeous hotel! The location is absolutely ideal as it is right on the beach so has beautiful views but is also extremely close to lots of restaurants, bars and shops. We had an absolutely fantastic stay

The view of the room was just perfect! We loved it very much! The staff at the counter were very kind. They were very helpful about everything! The air conditioner was working well. Many thanks for the gift!
Water pressure in the shower was low. The breakfast quality should be better. If I remember correctly, it was better last year. Please put black olives in the breakfast menu :)
Great facilities, excellent breakfast, right on the beach, parking! Perfect spot for a couple’s holiday!
A delightful stay! Room was lovely, patio looking at the sea was as advertised. Bed was comfy. The hotel is modern and clean. The staff are kind, courteous and helpful. The pool area, bar and breakfast area are bright lovely spaces to be in and the food was lovely. Access to the beach and no kiddos makes this hotel an excellent choice if you want a quiet, relaxing and beautiful place to stay! Would highly recommend.
Nothing, this hotel totally met our expectations! :)
Great location. Loved the breakfast, pool and pool bar. Room was great too. Loved being close to town and right on the beach.
Loved everything
Fab hotel. Great location. Stunning views. Right on the beach. Great food at lunch by pool.
Would have appreciated a welcome drink- even if it was mocktail or cold water. Coming from hour drive in 36c heat. Also would appreciate a changing room for 10/20 minutes in afternoon before flying home- not shower in bikini & everyone watching & wet bikini in the case as a result. Little bit of hogging sunbeds for 3/4 hours & not using them for half the morning but hogging the beds from early morning.
Beautiful property right on the beach. Amazing location only a few minutes walk to a vast array of restaurants and shopping
The breakfast was delicious! And even the food at the bar by the pool was great. Location was superb and so close to all other restaurants and bars so lots to choose from. Nearby two stunning beaches. The staff were also the loveliest. Room was neat and clean, and overall hotel was very aesthetically pleasing with lots of useful facilities.
Room was just a bit smaller than pictures advertised (didn’t bother us in the end tbh). Also paid for sea view and got only a small partial view closer to the edge of balcony as trees were in the way - just wish this was stated in description so expectation is set appropriately.
Location! Clean, nice staff, great breakfast buffet, nice vibe at beach bar/restaurant
Loved the view and the morning yoga. Being able to walk down the steps onto the beach was fab.
There was no vegan option at pool bar at lunch
It is really excellent hotel in general, in good location, with parking nearby, very close to a beach and restaurants. Hotel is very clean and well maintained, rooms spacious and logically organized. Excellent, really outstanding breakfast, with option for freshly made egg dishes and eating on a terrace. Staff is efficient and polite, no problems at all. WiFi working well.
The bathroom could have a bit more light, I'm also not big fan of split/open bathroom (toilet and shower are closed, but sink is kind of in the room), but it is design choice I guess. They also charge you 2€ per night for kettle, which I thought was weird for a hotel with 4 stars rating.
We love the location and the ambience, the hotel has a beautiful atmosphere. The staff were helpful and the food was delicious.
The location was the best in town. Overlooking the beach, while also being next to the town center. Breakfast had a nice selection.
The rooms are very dated. The beds were somewhat uncomfortable and the bathroom left something to be desired.
staff, beach and amazing breakfast
Situation, arrangement of facilities , breakfast (super)
No dinner available in hotel, only beach bar with limited menu
The hotel is located at a perfect location in Cala D’Or, with direct access to the beach Cala Petita. Restaurants and grocery stores are approx 5-7 mins walk. The hotel is clean, and our room also had partial sea view. The breakfast has a good selection of items, including gluten free options as well. The staff is amazing, they also arranged for us last minute airport transfer at a very cheap rate ❤️
Nothing, I would go back again for sure :)
