Hotel Iro

The food was great!Staff was very friendly, and the room was cleaned everyday.Nice hotel if you are looking for a lower budget option!

Rooms were a little bit older than the photos, but it didn't matter that much to me.

Food was amazing, every meal was something different and very very nice.Maybe one of the best hotel restaurants regarding the food and variety from hotels that i stayed at previously.All compliments to the chef.Staff was really pleasant and helpful, so that is also great.

Cleanliness of the rooms was not the best but decent.Bed was so uncomfortable i woke up every morning with the pain :DRoom was overall ok.It is a little older place but since my focus is on the beach, sea and exploring the town room wasn't that big of a deal.

The hotel we stayed in was quite old, the rooms were very small, the balcony was a meter by meter. The only thing that was cool was the food that was in the neighboring hotel Sergio, very friendly staff and a good location in 5 minutes to the beach. In general, for the price, it's very good.

Bad experience

We were deeply disappointed with our stay at Hotel Iro. From the moment we arrived, we discovered that although our accommodation was at Hotel Iro, all other activities such as breakfast, dinner, the pool, and more had to be done at Hotel Sergios, located next door and owned by the same managementThe disappointment began when we saw our room, which was significantly different from what was shown in the photos on Booking. The images of the Hall and rooms were actually from the nearby Hotel Sergios, not from Hotel Iro. In reality, we found ourselves staying in very old and shabby rooms. We noticed cobwebs under the ceiling and repeatedly found spiders in our room, which suggests a lack of cleanliness and attention to detail.Additionally, among the free amenities listed on Booking, a hairdryer was included, but it was not present in the room. We reported this issue to the reception but received no response or solution.The common areas of Hotel Iro were poorly lit and conveyed a sense of insecurity, as there were no controls or staff present in the hall. This aspect further contributed to our negative experience.Overall, Hotel Iro did not meet our expectations in the slightest and left us with a negative impression. We recommend paying close attention to the discrepancies between the expectations created by the photos and the actual accommodation.

Everything was good. The room was super clean and fresh. Breakfast and dinner also were nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Also there is free parking area near by the hotel. Reception is in Sergio's Hotel.

There are no heavy curtains, so in the morning the light is a little bit annoying.

Lovely hotel situated near the beach in the centre of Hersonissos. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the warm welcome of Nikos in the dining room each day. The variety of food, the taste of it, we were amazed. A good value for money. It is a 2* hotel but with a 5* staff and restaurant services.The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience.

Well is old building needs some maintenance ..Curtains for windows doesn’t exist , Wi-Fi not at all in rooms ..!

Food was really great. Room was cleaned everyday and sheets are changed after 4 days. People are very very kind.

Room and balcony are small. There is no curtain to block the sun in the morning.

Hotel was on very good position,just 50 m away of bus station 22, where buses from and to Heraklion arrive, and 150 m from nearest beach. Room was clean and comfort.Beds were comfy.Wi fi worked perfect in whole hotel.Stuff were kind and helpful.Food was so various, delicious and tasty.There were a lot of different animations every evening.I will be back one day

Great location, close to the beach and all the restaurants/bars. Friendly staff, especially Aris from the front desk. Big breakfast buffet.

Rooms are in a bad condition and outdated. Essential things like hair dryer and shampoo/shower gel missing. No wi-fi in the room.

Value of money, location that everything was very close and the beach is 200 meters to walk. Housekeeper from Ukraine was also very friendly and welcoming, everyday asked if everything is okay.

I have booked a half-board room and I feel satisfied with that. The room was ok, the food really delicious, congratulations to the chef and all staff.Good value for money

The hotel is perfectly located in the center of Hersonissos. Directly in front of the hotel there is a bus stop. The food was excellent, the meals varied, a large selection of different dishes. The rooms were big and clean. A perfect ratio of price and quality.

The room was too small, with bad smell. Their was no basic facilities like, glass, cup, electric cattle, bathroom mat etc

Instead of staying at hotel Iro, we were moved/upgraded to the hotel across the street, Hotel Sergios. This is the same hotel as the people on Iro eat in and has the same owner.The room was pleasant and the location was pretty good.

I was on half board. This means you have to pay for drinks at dinner, which I think speaks for itself, so every night I bought drinks at the restaurant bar after bringing food to the table.Unfortunately they only have one single payment machine in the whole hotel, so if you want to pay with a card they have to go and get it in the lounge bar, which at one point took over 10 minutes and my food was then cold.So, day 6 out of 10, after coming from the beach and passing the lounge bar, I decided to save some time by buying a bottle of water in there instead of the restaurant bar.When I later brought the bottle into the restaurant, I saw the hotel manager making big eyes at the bottle but I seriously couldn't understand why.Then one of the waiters comes up to my table and demands to know if I got this bottle from the hotel. I gave him the very simple explanation but he didn't believe me and demanded to see a receipt!!! He literally shouts at me!By now everyone is looking at us, following the situation. I tell him I'm happy to pay for the bottle again and he goes to get the machine. I pay again. ButI was so humiliated! This bottle of water costs 1€! In my country (Sweden) you wouldn't even be able to by water that cheap in the supermarket - and still, after 6 days of paying for drinks (water, wine, coke) they believe I woke up and decided I would try to SMUGGLE in water from some shop in order to save something like 30 cents???If anyone is trying to smuggle in drinks for free it's probably more likely to be 19-year olds bringing alcohol on a party trip and NOT a 47-year old Swedish woman, on her own, smuggling 1€ water in order to save a cpl of cents!!!I didn't visit the restaurant for 3 days after that. I felt so upset I just went to my room and cried afterwards.Later I went around looking for this water in the shops and it wasn't sold in EVEN ONE SINGLE PLACE.I feel convinced they wouldn't do this to a man on hos own.

Breakfast is excellent with a large selection and is served at Sergios Hotel.

The staff at the reception is extremely kind and cordial. The food is excellent and there is a large selection.
