    Cons -

    • I had high expectations for my stay at the Iberostar Waver, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what was promised. From the moment I arrived, I encountered a series of issues that reflected a serious lack of management and hospitality. The staff, rather than being welcoming and helpful, were consistently disrespectful and dismissive. Basic questions were met with vague or contradictory information, and any attempts to clarify were handled with impatience or indifference. It was clear that there was a lack of training and coordination among the team, which created a chaotic and frustrating atmosphere throughout the stay. What was most disappointing was the overall absence of genuine hospitality. I expected a level of care and professionalism that simply wasn’t there. Instead, I felt like I was being tolerated rather than truly hosted.Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Iberostar Waver and hope the management takes serious steps to improve the guest experience.
    • We were feeling discriminated in main restaurant (two weiters were helping everyone around us but we were ignored, felt invisible). We escalated it daily, 3 times in total, after 3rd one situation got improved. Also in bars there were few people which I would call not friendly for us. The same we would say about cleaning personel.Water in tap is not crystal, but bit yellow.Small ants in the room. Our impression is that is not place for people from Europe / non speaking Portuguese or Spanish.
    • One of the diners booking was the last shift and the food options in the buffet were limited (not fully refilled)

The hotel buildings were of a good standard but no lifts.

Food was repetitive. The hotel did not cater for English speakers. We had issues with air conditioning in the room on the first day.

The food offer, diverse and of good quality

Music all day long, you need to choose the right spot to find some peace

The gym was like a commercial gym - fabulous. It truly was all inclusive- no exceptions, no forms to complete, no hidden charges. Pool’s awesome. Friendliness of staff - super lovely and they had fun at work which was lovely to see. WiFi was amazing!

It’s tricky when only a few people speak English. Shame about the jelly fishes on the sea!

The hotel is great! Pools are amazing, rooms are quiet comfortable, people are friendly and there is a lot of activities going on! There’s even a kids play room. Everything is always very very clean and in order. Very spacious and lots of nature. Food is good in main restaurant and there’s always drinks and water everywhere. Overall it was quiet and ok stay

We had quiet a few “little” problems:1. Booked a transfer from Salvador airport to the hotel and we were never picked up, and we had to get to the hotel in a taxi with our baby in a baby comfort that was not ok. I am waiting to get reembolses for that.2. The crib they put in the room was broken and we had to wait more than 4 hours to get a new one and we managed by 18:30 (nearly our babies bed time) because we took the broken crib to the reception3. Main restaurant is extremely noisy, so much so that our baby could stay only y about 15 min in there before he would start to get fuzzy or crying. Even for us the noise was extremely upsetting. So most of our meals were rushed in a 15 min timeline. 4, other restaurants at night the food was not good at all, only the one where the theme is Bahia of course. The rest totally not worth it.5.since the main restaurant is buffet after the first hour of service all the food and service looked very messy. The buffet doesn’t look fresh after 1 or 1.5 hours. So we always rushed to the restaurant to eat within the first hour, and that was stressful specially in the morning. 6. I think it was due to the time of year (August) but the beach was not very easy acess. Ocean with very big waves, very small beach due to the high tide and all the chairs and umbrellas were squeezed together.

The location was amazing, we had an oceanfront room, which was surprisingly quiet as there was a lot of activity around the main pool area…depending on what type of vacation you want, I would definitely recommend asking which building you’re in.

The only complaint we had was 2 mornings with cold showers

Entertainment - they have a great team leading pool and beach activitiesSwimming poolsBuffet restaurantsBeach and beach facilities

Table tennis - not so good table and place to play

    10CaseyPosted on: 3-9-2024

Very friendly staff and extremely professional. Very clean room and facilities. Great activities for family and friends. Fast check-in and check-out. Variety of food options and drinks.

The beach itself is not suited for snorkeling. Regarding smoking, we were exposed to it in too many places. By the theater, the pool areas, and the beach. Iberostar should make the entire area smoke free.

    7KarenPosted on: 1-6-2024

The location is really great. I recommend swimming at the beach and visiting the nearby village. Swimming pool ( larger one) has live music and many activities. You’ll need to reserve good seats early. Staff from restaurants are friendly and try to accommodate requests.

They only allow check in from 15:00 ( even if the room is available earlier) and try to sell an upgrade for an earlier check in. It felt like a bribe:/My room was not ready even at 15:00 and I didn’t receive any compensation. Felt like a “ lost day” in and out of the reception area with airport clothes..Don’t look under chairs or high shelves ( it’s really dirty). Otherwise it’s ok.

The beach front hotel room was very good, quiet and far from the pools. The room was air conditioned and included a fan. A bit far from the lobby, but this was expected considering the size of the Resort. The beach is pristine, the ocean water warm and the waves wonderful for surfing or just playing with. The Prestige Area is where we spent most of our time, it is well worth the extra cost, service and drinks are top notch. The Dinner Reservation Restaurants are all worth mentioning, very good food and service.

Hot water temperature in our bathroom was very low, and the ventilator did not work. None of these two requests were solved during our stay. No elevator, so third floor could be a problem for some. The buffet (breakfast, lunch) could be a bit monotonous.

Pool, room and beach were all fab. So was the food.

They could have cleaned and tidied up the area all along by the front towards the beach. There were often bits of rubbish there and things looked a little messy. The beach furniture was also tired looking.

    nothing really

    Location and rooms.

The restaurant booking system is broken. Seems designed to prevent guests from experiencing all 5 restaurants. The food was generally mediocre. Staff is poorly trained in customer service. Many naturally friendly people but many aloof or unpleasant. Beach items (lounge chairs mostly broken) are poorly maintained. In summary , not up to the standards of all inclusive properties in Mexico or Punta Cana.

Our daughter loved the Kids Club!Overall we really loved every minute of our stay and can totally recommend it.

The restaurant by the beach could not be booked for dinner, as it was already fully booked every night of our stay. The hotel should have stricter policies against people reserving chairs by the pool with towels etc.

    9GustavoPosted on: 7-12-2023

The location was very peaceful and calm. Beautiful gardens, the distribution of the different areas of the Hotel are very good and you can easily find everything. We took our three daughters 3, 8, and 9. They loved the kids club where they spent a couple of hours a day playing, swimming, exercising, acting, cooking (pizzas) they even take them to eat and many different activities more like the daily show. Our daughters would rather go to the club instead of hanging out with us; Lol! but they were having a blast with kids their age. The people in charge of the kids club were very friendly, responsible and organized. The food in general is very good and varied; buffet, Asian, Italian, Mediterranean and fast food.We went a couple of times to the Prestige area by the beach and boy was it worth it, top brands of liquor and spirits. The service was superb, here is where we met Valeria she made us feel like VIP customers, very friendly, professional and fun!Overall the hotel, rooms, activities, restaurants, bars are a solid 9. I don’t give my stay a 10/10 because of the beach. The ocean was very rough those days.I would definitely recommend this hotel and will come back.

The ocean was very rough (probably the dates we were there)
