I believe Booking.com misrepresented the hotel we booked.

Booking.com should have put us in the hotel we booked which was Hotel Rubino! Instead, we were put in the hotel next door owned by the same 'brand' by the name of Hotel Diamont but a step down from the Hotel Rubino!!! Therefore, I cannot rate the Hotel Rubino as we didn't get a chance to stay there!

It is difficult to give feedback. We booked and paid for Hotel Rubino and when we tried to check in we were sent to the neighbouring hotel. To quote the check in 'our sister hotel, it's much more modern and better'. Which it wasn't.

That when we tried checking in to the hotel we were sent to another hotel. The other hotel did not have a balcony at our room, as per the confirmation on our booking. The room did not match the standard we had expected based on the photos online. When we asked at reception, the receptionist insisted we did have a balcony. We did have an 'extra' room that looked out on one side to our neighbour's balcony. So that added insult to injury. We contacted customer service and after 24 hours were told that without contacting us, an agreement was made with Booking.com and Hotel Rubino that we could have the extra cost of our dog removed and have access to the wellness centre for free. We did not want access to the wellness centre. It is a difficult situation to be in as we were there for Christmas holidays with our children so had no real option but to stay at the the Diamond Hotel. The food at the hotel was terrible. The Christmas banquet was a disaster. Food was so slow coming out that people headed to the dessert buffet. We were asked do we want sorbet at one stage and we were finished eating and we could see the bar staff desperately trying to give it out. The dining room is so loud that it's a question of eat and run. There is nothing cosy about this place.The restaurant is extremely warm. While we were in a local shop the lady who served us said the hotel chain has a terrible reputation in the area.

Overall, we had extremely good value for money. The hotel was right in the centre of Canazei, the facilities are a bit dated but I would say some people might see this as part of an "old style" traditional charm. Our rooms were large and clean. Some dishes were really good. The buffet for breakfast was good.

-Our booking was moved to another hotel (10 Min drive in another Fassa's town) in the afternoon of our arrival. From reading other reviews this is not the first time the hotel manages the (?over)bookings this way, as there are more hotels part of a hotel chain. To ease this last minute change, they have given us free access to the hotel wellness area & upgraded our rooms. -There is very limited free parking: if this is all taken, there are underground parking spaces that need to be paid with an extra daily charge. -the food (dinner) was a bit of a hit and miss. Some dishes are really good and tasty, others are not up to the 4 stars standards. -there is a self-service coffee machine that is used for breakfast: the coffee is really not good. -there is a music bar next to the hotel and it can get quite noisy in the late evenings.

The room needed maintenance, the WC had a water leak, very dated and used furniture, some electrical outlets didn’t work, there was no shower curtain. On a few words I don’t believe the hotel is 4 stars. I would give it 2 max 3

Something was leaking in the toilet, on the floor. Not such a clean bathroom. Only 2 chairs for 4 people in the balcony.

Wellness and swimming pool were really old school and not welcoming.In the room the bathroom was rusty and the lightning very low.

Food is obviously preordered and delivered from catering services company and does not is not compatible with the hotels price range. Brakfast quite poor.

All was perfect -the rooms the stuff and the position of the hotel .The management help us in all issues related to the failure we had with our rented car
