Pros +
- The location was beautiful, the old house surounded by garden and century old trees. Breakfast was decent.
- Beautiful village and house, comfortable apartment
- Fascinating location in an old artists colony in the forest. The architecture of the house is wonderful and was designed by the famous painter who built it. The area is super fancy and we somehow managed to get a great price. We tried to stay there on our way back but was a bank holiday weekend and prices more than doubled, though still a great place if we could have afforded it the second time. We will be looking out for more bargains that come up in this magical place.
Cons -
- One of the two rooms smelled very weird, due to the small windows there was no way to air it well. The old wardrope was missing a door. Breakfast did not offer any vegetables which is surprising considering it had many types of cheeses and meats.
- As it's a bit far out of town and in a very wealthy area , there are not many reasonably priced restaurants nearby
- Access through posh villas estate with very narrow lanes, cobbles and busy with fast ("entitled") local drivers...Perhaps they see too many tourists in their "exclusive" surroundings...??Glad to see a kettle in the room... but water came out of the tap slightly brown and smelling a little earthy.Faux suede armchairs rather well-used. Not terribly attractive nor practical.Bed was a little soft and bouncy (well used?)

Historical building in leafy garden - former home of local painter. Spacious room with tasteful decor.Friendly staff but reception only staffed at certain times. Access by code at other times.Upper floors access by lift.On site parking on loose gravel area. Bit challenging for motorbikes.Choice of restaurants a short drive away.Ample buffet breakfast with wide choice of "continental" options as well as "eggs with bacon" local style.

What a beautiful place. Above and beyond and located by a great village with lovely homes. Only a short drive to Gent which was beautiful.
The room was very clean, and matching the description.Staff was friendly and accomodating, and breakfast was great!
Beautiful green setting. Very quiet and relaxing, we took a walk and enjoyed spring at its best. Eady car parking. Breakfast was good, better than expected based on the reviews I read. But not worth EUR 22! That would mean fresh juice, fruit and bubbles next to the standard, although the waffles were fun to make. Lovely sauna outside which we did not use but it looked great. Easy parking but you need a car. Taxi van for 6 to Ghent was eur 55. Uber back was 30. The nearby town center has great restaurants and plenty of galleries , we visited 2 and got great explanations about the art there from lovely people. It was like a private art museum visit.
Staff was nice but a bit slow, it took 10 min to check in an we waited 15 min for a bottle of wine on the terrace. Breakfast could offer some fresh fruit salad, juice and bubbles for the amount of eur 22. No public transport to go to Ghent, but you need to drive.
Free parking, great communication , comfortable bed , big room beautiful place
There wasn't any shower gel
An authentic old house in a picturesque town. I loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff! The bed was comfortable, the breakfast-delicious, prepared on the spot. There are also places to eat nearby. The room was warm, clean and cosy. It was very quiet and I slept great. I enjoyed my stay so much I am already planning how and when to come again for longer time
Staff was really nice and friendly! We came by bike and I lost the key to the lock of my bike. They kept my bike secure until I was able to pick it up. The woman at the reception was helpful.
The breakfast could've been a bit better. The breakfast room was a bit cold. The bathtub didn't look very clean.
Location, staff and breakfast room were very nice.
The bed / mattrass were too soft, not very comfortable.
Warm and comfortable room. Very pleasant surroundings.
No staff present at all. No open facility to eat or drink. We were driving from Romania to UK and just wanted to stop, eat and sleep. We arrived about 7 p.m. in the dark. Nothing was available. Not a suitable place for our purposes but I imagine in summer season it is very pleasant.
So full of character and a lovely setting. The breakfast was absolutely fit for a king. Warm and welcoming staff too. Clean and in a beautiful part of Belgium.
The property is very beautiful, room is comfortable, checkin was easy, Breakfast very nice and high quality and the staff were delightfully friendly.
The environment of the hotel looks quite beautiful. The staff receives the guests hospitably
The location of the hotel is somehow remote from the city
Quiet location in nice neighbourhood, close to Gent.
A little expensive .Bed and pillows not great.
In the middle of nature and very beautiful, everything was super clean and the attending staff was very friendly!
Loved the building and location. Staff were good & the room was nice & clean
The shower water ran into the whole bathroom as the screen was not sealed. No jug in the room for a cup of tea.
The house is huge and complete in amenities
No door lock at the back door
The hotel was all that was promised and then some! I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed by the serene and calming atmosphere. When we arrived, we were greeted by 2 small cats who walked us to the front door which was cute. The room was spotless, and the attention to cleanliness was evident throughout the entire property. What truly set this hotel apart was the fresh and pleasant scent that greeted me the moment I walked in—such a refreshing touch! If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing stay where you can unwind in a clean, comfortable environment, this is the perfect place. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip! 5 stars all the way!
That we didn't stay longer :/
