MIMARU TOKYO UENO OKACHIMACHI

The room was simple but very convenient for a family of five. We loved the location - it’s next to the Yamanote line and other metro stations. The staff was super friendly and had many recommendations on the restaurants and things to do in the area. The kids loved their bingo game a lot :)

Amazing property. Perfect for families. One block from the best subway line. Tons to do in the neighborhood and tons of great food options. No better spot in Tokyo if you’re traveling with young children.

The location, the staff, and the room were wonderful.

We could hear noise from the people staying above us which was very disruptive when trying to sleep. We sought help from staff on the issue but it continued throughout the remainder of our stay there.

Our stay at Mimaru was nothing short of outstanding. The staff truly went above and beyond, especially Aoi, Yuna, and Dong. When my daughter lost her phone, they didn’t just stop at checking, they tracked it down and made sure we got it back. Aoi even met us at the airport the same day before our flight to help finalize the transaction. That level of care and dedication is rare, and it gave us peace of mind during a stressful situation. Professional, genuine, and incredibly helpful, Mimaru’s team made all the difference. Highly recommend staying here if you want service that goes above and beyond.

Great place to explore Tokyo with room for family. Close to a lot of metro lines. Staff was friendly and extremely helpful with recommendations and baggage transfer to our next destination, especially Seira (thank you Seira!).Laundry facilities too. Highly recommend!

The location of this place was excellent. A fairly calm part of Tokyo but really well connected and a beautiful park. Also, the washing machine was super handy, especially with the heat of summer

It was not my first stay in a Mimaru, but the experience was the same. Friendly staff, great for families with kids, the rooms are big and clean, with kitchen.

Location was perfect! Easy access to four local subway lines as well s a short walk to JR Ueno Station - or you could take the subway one stop. If you want to avoid Tokyo Station and get everywhere Tokyo has to offer - this is the place to stay. Parco and Matsuzakaya department stores across the street - both have food stores on B - floors, the latter of which is epic. Convenience stores everywhere. Don Quixote two blocks away. Great food everywhere - the corner Izakaya very very good, humble interior - well trained and skilled chef. Desk staff fluent in English, helpful and very family oriented and fun. Great to chat with going in and out. Exceeded expectations. Room plenty big for family (we were just 3 people) good storage. Trash removal and towels daily. Laundry worked well on floor 1. Luggage shipment to Osaka, skipping our next short stay destination took only a few minutes (Mimaru works with Yamato) and everything arrived in Osaka without any issue. The area is just removed from the hectic hustle and crowds of Asakusa. You could easily walk in 15 minutes or so to Akihabara down the main road if you wanted, or take the subway one stop. We did TeamLabs Borderless, Harry Potter Studio, Disney Sea, Sumo Tournament, Tokyo SkyTree, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuky, Ginza, Asakusa, Akihabara and more over 6 nights and the locations allowed for very little transit. If you smoke - there is a smoking room on 2F - so avoid that floor if you don't smoke - but you won't notice it - and it's the size of a small closet. There's a 7-11 a block away towards Akihabara that has a smoking room and a couple large areas at Ueno Station/Park that are more useful for that activity. The Don Quixote up the small street two blocks then to the left - is well stocked and not crowded. Whole area very safe for teenage kids and young adults to walk around without supervision. For us with three people it was perfect. Again the staff was excellent!

We did not encounter any negative issues at all.

The location was great. There were many restaurants and shopping malls nearby, and it was close to Ameyoko and Akihabara with few minutes walk distance.

We found traveling as a family of five to Japan was difficult for booking accommodations. Then we found Mimaru hotels. Plenty of space, kid focused activities, and friendly staff. We were there for peak cherry blossom season so it was great to be so close to Ueno Park to see the blossoms and to go for a run. Highly recommend!.

Excellent location, on a quiet street, close to Ueno Park and stations Staff all spoke fluent English and was very helpful with travel and dinner needs Kid and family friendly Laundry was easy

We were above a smoking room, i think family friendly hotels should not have smoking rooms Wish they had tea, coffee, water at the reception

Location is great with many different options for train station, and close to shopping areas and restaurants. Very convenient and not crowded. Highly recommend if you're not used to riding trains. The train stations in this area are very easy compared to Shinjuku, Shibuya or Tokyo station.

Super convenient to Okachimachi Station as well as subways. Front desk staff is wonderful. A special shoutout to Seira, Dong and Mike/Mark (sorry forgot which). Seira went out of her way to help us optimize our daily schedules and included suggestions to make our stay even more pleasant. Dong was super helpful in getting our luggage transported ahead of us to our next destination.

I had trouble finding exactly how convenient the location was when booking so I couldn't chose between the three different Ueno locations. I can't speak compare to the others since I never stayed at those spots but ultimately, glad I chose this one and loved how close this was to the stations. I was able to go out after dropping my stuff off at the hotel before heading out for a quick bite just 5 minutes away across the street. Parco and another major mall was just across the street. Lawsons was also down the street. Also 10/10 for the front desk staff. Super duper helpful, lovely, friendly. Every single one of those ladies both morning and night went above and beyond to answer my questions and help me out. I also loved how prepared the hotels were for our questions. They had diagrams ready for us to make sure no language barriers or mistakes were made. They even helped me chose the best taxi option for heading to Haneda airport and helped me make the reservation via phone.

I wish the bathroom had more ventilation. When you have multiple people using that room, I felt like the air just never left.
